Making Strides against B.C.

Options

I am so honered Some of my friends have made up a team named Bridget's Walk for the American Cancer Society Making Strides Against Breast Cancer. All the money raised stays in Maine for Breast Cancer Last year this annual walk which takes place in 4 diffrent areas of Maine raised over$475.000 dollars to fund research, increase breast cancer awareness and promote early detection. And people make up diffrent teams for someone they know and love with breast cancer. I am so honored that my friends are doing this for me. although I will not be able to walk the full 3miles due to neuropthy but to be a part of it is awsome. This year at many Morgan horse shows they did Breast Cancer benifits and raised alot of money for all of us. I was sorry that at that time I was not able to attend these shows. So I am so excited to be able to go to this.

Also my daughter is going to put on a benifit trail ride for Breast Cancer she is starting to organize it for next year and I am so proud of her she just turned  16 what a great girl she is!!!! I will keep in touch with how thats going on.

That's awesome about the walk, Bridget!!  I am getting a team together to walk in the Orlando ACS Making Strides Against Breast Cancer walk, and hope that we will help to raise some money, but even more than that, hope to raise awareness in our community.

It sounds as if your daughter is already raising awareness by planning her trail ride.  She must be a very special girl.

    Hugs,

I've walked the Making Strides Walk here in Manchester 3 times, since being diagnosed in 2005. There are 2 of us survivors within 2 houses of each other. All the woman and daughters in the neighborhood walk every year with our the "Nutty Neighbors". This year though just my daughters, now 21 and 18,  will be walking. I'll be on vacation with my husband for our 25th wedding anniversary (it's the 22nd, right in the middle of the week), so I'll be missing the fun this year. It seems more and more people do the walk every year. I'll be back doing it next year!

    Enjoy and keep healthy!
