Wow - this is huge!  If a drug showed this type of response, the developing co. would make a fortune!  Chemo has a 30-60 % response rate for BC (I'm told), and has many risks and side effects - as we all know.

I'm signed up for a fitness evaluation.  I've always been active, but more since my diagnosis, and I'm hoping that this is my ace in the hand.

    Thanks for posting this!

Good! Because I just biked 16 miles and then ran another 2.5! Actually the potentional benefit of recurrence prevention is part of my motivation for working out, although I like working out anyway.

I've read somewhere else that 1hour of strenous exercise daily lowers the risk of recurrence. Before beeing diagnosed, I did 3 hours of intense work out per week.  Now, I am going toward 6 hours per week.  Oh and also, intense workout lowers the risk of ovaries cancer. Every time I work out at the cancer-patients-gym, some people wonder if I am not too tough on me... I think that I prefer suffering a little hour a day than hearing '' you've got cancer'' again!

I, too , have seen that one of the factors influencing recurrance is obesity. I've been gaining weight for the last year and I don't want to go through this again! After my last A/C a week ago, I started working up to walk as much as I can. Although I'd very much like to go back to the gym, I have had several infections and don't think it's worth the risk of picking up more. However, being active makes me feel a lot better regardless of it's other benefits.

Being active is great for body spirit and mind.  There is no doubt about it.  The human body was not meant to be sedentary, many health studies have proven that.
