Skin Sparing Mastectomy Question

I asked this in the "Just Diagnosed" section, but realize it is probably better to ask in this area as most of you have been through this already:

My wife is having a bilateral skin-sparing mastectomy with reconstruction. We are feeling very fortunate especially with the new techniques they have developed which will allow for reconstruction that will spare the nipple (the example here on breastcancer.org does not seven show this kind of surgery).  As a husband I am feeling very uplifted for my wife as I think this will be something that will help her emotionally in her recovery.

My question is for anyone out there who has already had this surgery.  We know this can vary depending upon chemo, radiation, etc, but can you share insights into your recovery periods.  When were you able to drive?  What did you do wrong?  What complications did you have?  Scarring (How long did it take to become less visible)?

Thanks in advance for any insight.
