Doctors!! Ughh!!
i am sooo angry!! My daughter was scheduled for a bone scan and a CAT scan today, and a lumpectomy and sent. lymph node biopsy tomorrow, with an apt. on fri. to decide on treatment (does anyone see anything wrong here yet?). Well, we didn't! obviously we are trusting that these Drs. know what they are doing and that they are talking to each other!! As she was leaving the hospital after the bone & CAT scans - the tech said wait a minute are you scheduled for surgery tomorrow? Yes! You can't have it done that SOON after the bone scan because the dyes will confuse each other! It takes 2-3 DAYS to get out of the system. . . so now we will have to wait 1 MORE week to find out how bad it is!!! We haven't even started and I am already mad at the dr. and he is supposed to be the best in our area!! Sorry Ladies for venting - but as so many have said before me this is the only place I can, since I have to be strong for her.

Sorry to hear. Appointment management seems to be the hardest things. I know people who have had surgery 3 days after diagnosis and we are currently sitting at 32 days since diagnosis with 14 days to go. Each appointment brings us some more knowledge and yet I think the bevy of appointments the day before the surgery will be the hardest!
Good luck and I hope the surgery goes well.

I feel the same way about the doctors. We have like 4 doctors that have no idea who is in charge. They send us from place to place to have this test and talk with this doc. I dont think anyone is in charge. My mom has to be cleared for surgery from a lung specialist the appt is 5 days after the scheduled surgey date. No one seems to get it when I tell them so I guess we just move forward. Good luck on getting your surgery I hope everything turns out well for you. Sandy

Thanks for letting me vent - Sandy I am sorry that you too are going through this - your story just makes me laugh ( and not in the funny he! he! way!!) what are they thinking!!! Route 53, I can't believe it has taken so long to get your surgery!! Jen would have been through with both surgeries by now if they would have been paying attention!! And it's only been 2 weeks since diagnosis. . . stay in touch and let us know how it goes! Becky

Schedling my mastectomy in March was tricky since I had to have both breast surgeon and plastic surgeon there. Got it scheduled, then called my onc to schedule putting in port, scans, etc. All set - then they call to tell me that they scheduled me with my plastic surgeon's brother! This, of course, messed up all the other appointments, and when I had to call back the onc, I just lost it. Thank God his scheduler is a sweetheart and let me sob for awhile, telling me it wasn't my fault. Route 53 is right - appointment management is a major pain!
Good luck to you both, Becky and Sandy. This is the most difficult part - get through this, and you'll be well on the road to recovery.
