Anyone else experience dry eyes?

Options

I have had two rounds of A/C with the third due this Thursday.  My eyes have dried out so much it is difficult to look at a computer or t.v. screen for very long.  I wondered if anyone else had this problem, and if so what did you do?  I think I am also a little light sensitive now with brighter light or sunny situations.  By nighttime, my eyes are quite painful and I have to spend time with my eyes closed, if I want to be able to see anything later. My oncologist seemed a little baffled by this.

I do have an appointment with an ophthamoligist, but couldn't get in until September 9th.

Thanks for any input.

Absolutely I have experienced this, and my Onc was baffled and had no answers either. I have been through 4 treatments of AC and just had my first treatment of Taxol and Herceptin last week. I was hoping and praying that the dry eye would go away, but it didn't. At night my eyes are also sticking together with mucus or something. Sometimes I have trouble opening them in the morning. It is a very annoying side effect to be sure.

My dry eyes dev. post chemo...they became so bad that I thought I had recurring "pink eye".They were inflamed beyond belief, then crusty and so dry that I had to manually open them in the am.

My opthal. tried sev. things that didn't work and then we did punctal plugs (in my tear duct) which really improved things + we did Restasis....that was the trick...I now only rarely have eye issues..Hope ya'll get positive results.

Taxotere did a number on my eyes.  I had tubes inserted in my tear ducts to no avail and now use eye drops (not Visine) four times a day.  I use preservative free tears or other preservative free drops.  Please discuss this with your oncologist and good luck finding a solution.
