Please join us for this first-ever event in Southern California to raise awareness about breast cancer among the Filipino community.

WHEN: Sunday, October 5, 2008, 11:00 AM - 2:00 PM

WHERE: Eagle Rock Plaza, Center Court (in front of Seafood City Supermarket, Ground Floor)

2700 Colorado Blvd.
Los Angeles CA 90041

WHY: Cancer is the leading cause of death among Asian-American women; and Filipinos have the HIGHEST DEATH RATE from breast cancer than any other Asian-American group.

Our goals for this free community event are to:

1) Provide breast cancer education and resources (i.e. risk factors, self-breast exam education, early detection and treatment information);

2) Provide referrals for screening and medical care to those at risk; and

3) Raise awareness about breast cancer among Filipinos.

For information, call (818) 409-8100.

This event is being held in memory of Ms. Alva Marie Argonza. She passed away within one year of being diagnosed with stage IV breast cancer (June 18, 2008). She was only 35 years old.
