Has any had a fast heart rate from T.C

I just had my 2nd treatment of taxotere. I had a reaction,which was very scary... so they had to slow it down. This time I have been feeling more tired, and my heart is constantly beating fast. Is this normal.. Last night it would not slow down, I couldn't even sleep.

I had this happen, too.  Mostly at night when I was trying to sleep but also at times during the day.  I talked to the onc about it and she didn't seem concerned.  I still am not sure if it is the Taxoere or the Neulasta or the steroids or combination of the above.  I am Day 12 from Tx 4 and still experiencing it a little bit.

Yeh, I will ask my advice nurse about it today. So how are you doing on your 4th treatment?  Would you say they are all different, or were they about the same?

I had the fast heart rate for about 3 days after each treatment (I'm 5 weeks out now).  I assumed it was the steroids.  My onc. nurses said it was normal.

The 4th was my last and I felt that each treatment was a little more hard hitting especially with the low grade fevers I developed and being on the antibiotics as well.  The fatigue got worse and I have to remind DH that I am not "done" yet and that the cumulative effects will probably worsen during radiation and we are looking at months of energy depletion.  He knows that intellectually but somehow thinks it won't be true for me.  Sigh

I am not on the same chemo. as you (I am on FEC) however I have palpitations for 2-3 days with every chemo so far. I have just had 4th round of chemo, I mentioned it to the ONC and they gave me an ECG which was normal and dont seem to be concerned. I myself find it really awfell and scary having your heart beat so fast while at rest.

Anemia can also contribute to a racing heart - along with the general feeling of tiredness you mention.  Do you know how your red blood counts have been holding up? 

The good news is, you should start feeling better once your counts rise.

I think it's been holding up o.k it was 11.5 1x. and 10.7 2x. I'll see what it is the 3rd x. I am getting scared for the next tx. I just had a bad allergic reaction 3 days ago after I ate at a Thai resturaunt. I broke out in hives all over my body. and I had a fever of 101.7 the doc told me to take benadryl and tylenol. The hives are finally going away.. but that was scary. I am up for round 3 this Monday...

I just had my first with taxotere... not fun.   I was fine after the treatment but within 3 days I had the worst bone pain and my tongue is shot.. it has turned totally white and nothing tastes right at all.  Also, I notice the heartbeat off and on.   Have you found these other symptoms as well??

Hello KKing, I am sorry to hear that. With my first treatment my tongue did get sore about the 4 day. and turned white by the 5th day. I kept rinsing my mouth with salt/baking soda and warm water, and also I garlgled with Biotene. It went away the next day. My second treatment same thing. This second treatment is hard for me I am going to see a doc today.. I am feeling really tired, bloated, and irritable maybe they need to check my blood count. How are you doing today. May I ask how old are you?

I think I will get that biotene mouthwash.. I have noticed other ladies mention it as well.

I am feeling almost back to normal... still having some stomach discomfort.  I am surprised you didn't get any bone pain (which is good)... as two ladies I know going for the chemo at the same time as myself both have suffered with the bone pain.

I am 46 years old.. how about yourself??

I am 43 y.o. so we are around the same age. Right now my biggest problem is  severe fatigue, bloating, and feeling emotional. I still have the fast heart rate too. It could mean my red blood count is low, I just pray the next treatment won't be this hard on me.
