Hey Beth, I checked it out, and since I am a total idiot I don't quite get it. Is it going to be kind of like a telethon? I am intrigued, and clicked on the "register" button, but it wanted me to sign into "Facebook?"
I'm so computer-challenged...... -
It was on the view this morning, try that link for more info.

Kattie Couric was saying that the funding needed to be paid by the people. Just what you can give would help. Government just doesn't have funding.
-
beth...have seen a few oif your posts,,,was wondering where in long island you are from... i am in farmingdale...was wondering if you were able to set up another meeting for the new york area...would be very interested....
-
yes- it will be a huge telethon-- think post 9-11 when all the celebs came out and did that huge telethon... this will be similiar. The goal is to fund research and scientists in cases where our government won't give the proper funds.
zsch- i used to live in farmingdale-- i'm very close now-- shoot me a PM.
-
I read about it about a month ago. I can't wait to see it.
-
That is just awesome.
I will definitely be donating.
-
you can donate $1.00 yes one dollar to launch a star in honor of someone with cancer or who we have lost to cancer.
I'm going to donate- but I was thinking, maybe taking the thread of the list of angels and launching stars in their names.
-
Beth - That is great idea about the angels. I'm in.
-
Oh BETH, that is awesome. Can I donate with you for our angels, too?
EDIT TO ADD: Ok guys, I did it, and I started a team!!!! How do I invite people to join without breaking bc.org rules?
-
Breastcacner.org is involved with this--- check out the resources page on the standup web site---
so I'm sure Marisa would be cool with us listing the team name here. PM her to be sure--
-
edited to add-- I PM Melissa- and I'll post when she responds....
-
This is wonderful....Im in too....just let me know what to do
Thank you for starting this Beth
Hugs
Jule
-
I guess until we hear back from Melissa do you want to PM whoever wants to join with the team name?
The coolest part about this, is that I would've donated to this event anyway-- and literally for $1.00 each we can honor our angels, which makes it that much better.
-
Hi Beth,
I'm in. I would love to honor two very sepcial people who touched my life and left it too soon.
I'm going on vacation and will be back on the 11th. Please PM me and let me know what you need.
Hugs....Pepper
-
I want to be a part of this, too.
Miss S
-
Who wants to join the team? Please PM me if you want to, and once I get a go-ahead from Melissa I'll post the info, too.
So excited! -
Count me in, too...
-
Me, too. I PM'd you, whoopsie.
-
I launched a star! PM me for info if you want to donate to it!
-
Beth, I saw that you joined the team!
By the way, I am totally willing to re-name the team if you guys want me to. Couldn't think of anything clever....
-
Hey Beth,
Count me in! I just saw a promo for the upcoming event. It looks powerful!
Lexi
-
I can post the link to our team without breaking bc.org rules, right? Or, can't I?
We are at $175.00 for our team so far!
-
I would post ths link--- I don't see why it would be a problem.
-
I got the okay to post the info in the "Walks and other fundraisers" topic!
Don't forget the name of the team (The Cancer Sucks Team). It's that entire phrase, by the way, and not just "cancer sucks."
Let's try to move this thread over there so we aren't breaking any rules! -
BUMP!!!!!!!!!!!!
We're doing awesome! Over $200 raised to end cancer!
WHOO-HOOOOOPlease go to the "Walks and other fundraisers" thread for more info, if needed!
Thank you, Beth, for letting us know about this!
-
No, thank you for getting totally inspired by this...I love it!!!!
-
Love ya, girl!
-
Bumpin' on up! Come join our team!
-
bumping up...joining is a little confusing but just keep following the links and you'll get it!!! Let's kick butt!!!!!
-
ladies, bumping on up!
Totally agree about how confusing it is on that website. Confusing, indeed! We've got 9 members, but I would love to have 900!!!!!
Donate a dollar to our team, and imagine if hundreds of our sisters just did that much.Yep-that would be cool!
