This one is one of the best I found.  I can't think off-hand about any others, but my mom and I are about the same ages as you and your mom.  My mom just turned 61 and I'm 34.  She was diagnosed in Feb.

Have you found out the type and staging stuff yet?  I think those waiting periods are the hardest.  We are now waiting for more test results for my mom.

She had chemo first and will have a mastectomy next Tuesday.

I found one more my mom's dr recommended: www.cancer.gov

I'm sorry you are going through this too.  It sucks.

I cant think of any right off.  The american cancer society will send you lots of info for free if you contact them.

    Sweetmelissa24,

We are also about the same age, my mother was diagnosed with stage4 breastcancer in december 2005 she mets to liver and bone. This website has alot of good information on it that can answer alot of questions you and your mother may have.

I am 36 and my mother is now 55. Please let me know if I can answers any questions for you. I know it was very hard for me to digest that mother had breast cancer, so I can fell what you are going through.

Breastcancer.org is the best website for information.  The community boards are great but go to the top of the pages and then read the sections on symptoms & diagnosis and the ones on treatments & side effects.  This site is also very good with posting transcripts of the latest q&a sessions with experts on various topics in the field of breast cancer.  The more you and your mother understand about breast cancer and the treatments, the easier it will be for the two of you to make treatment decisions.  Ask lots of questions from her oncology practice too and be sure that she knows to call them any time she has a questions or issue.  This is one area of healthcare where the patient must be very proactive to be sure of getting the best care.
