Has anyone had a chance to read the transcript on triple negs.  Here's what I got from it:

- Taxanes are good for triple negs

- Xeloda is bad for triple negs

- Avastin is promising, but need more data

- Increasing Vitatmin D up to 1000 units/day (equivalent to 25 microgram/day) is probably beneficial)

- Exercise is good for prevention

- Low fat diet is good for prevention (although they neglected to mention that the diet used by the women in the study was so low fat that many women couldn't stick to it)

Hugs,
Hillary

    NarberMom,

Remember triple negs is a generic name for bc that they can not find a possible receptor.  We all could have a different diseases and they just can't find our receptor yet.  Bottom line doctor are hesitate to say what works for TN and what doesn't.  I'm perfect example...been tested with seven biopsies and still TN.  Very rarely does TN stay localized in the chest wall.  Good chance I'm not like the other 99.9% TN ladies.  I've done seven chemo's and pretty much did not have any response.Other have  great response.

Yes, Flalady, I am aware that triple neg is a generic name for all breast cancers that have no known receptors. It is still interesting to see what the latest conclusions are about this type of breast cancer. It is an ever-moving target!

I read it, what a disappointment.  I was hoping for something new, or at least interesting.  Well, the Xeloda part was interesting, but upsetting since I was hoping to try that next for mets.  Other than that, more of the same "we don't know what it is so can't treat it."

    Hillary,

Thanks for posting the list above. I haven't had a chance to read the transcript, but find your bullet points of the transcript of interest and helpful - especially about the dairy.

    Anale,

I was just put on Xeloda because I have failed with the other chemo's but still have no major mets.  I also can no longer tolerate platinum drugs do to severe neuropathy from the MDA trial.  At this point they start handing you anything in there "little black bag".  Again you may respond with your class of TN.   Xeloda also being paired with Ixempra for TN mets with good results.  Have you tried Ixempra?  I have heard good things...again I can't take with my nerve damage.

     Living in hope,

    Flalady
