Gluten Free?
Hi Ladies,
I went to a Natural Pharmacist. He put me on various digestive things, enzymes, probotics etc. I do not know what any of this is about, but I will return in 4 weeks and see. However, he insisted that I become 100% gluten free. I found a store that sold foods that were very tasty. However, they are very expensive and extremely high in calories. I looked on line and there does not seem to be any relation to gluten and breast mets. I do not have that disease that people have who cannot tolorate gluten at all. I figure I would just go some times and not always. I cannot afford the food prices and still buy food for my family. One doctor on line said it is just the latest fad. That would make sense, as these fads do come and go. I have breast cancer mets to the bone just about everywhere in my body. I have just begun Xeloda and am getting Zometa. I see the Onc. tomorrow, but I will not mention this diet and regime, as I know they think it is nuts and I do not feel like listening to it. I know Sloan Kettering in NYC has an alternative medicine division and maybe if I have time I could make an appointment with them. I just want to know if any one else has been told this gluten free thing? Once again, thank you all for the constant support. Greta

Hi Greta,
I am gluten -free and want to recommend a site to you. It does not have to be expensive, unless you eat alot of packaged foods, which really are not good for you anyway and always more expensive than cooking.

I don't know if there is a connection, but I know my blood sugar, digestion and allergies are all 100% better being gluten free. And I don't have celiac either, just know i feel better without.
Best wishes,
Tay

Hi Greta,
I was dx 2years ago with bone mets.Changed my diet from day one to no white stuff...sugar, flour rice. No unhealthy fats. Orgainic whenever I can. I was put on tamoxifen from the start also. Six months later I was and still am NED. I feel great and also have had no side effects from the drug. Diet or drug (?) got me dancing with NED and I love to dance.

Thanks Ladies,
Glad to have the support. I was about to give up, but now I will stick in and see the results. Greta.
