Hi My wife is in a similar position to yours in 2008. She is considerng not doing chemo and radiation. Can you please tell me whether you did the chemo in the end or stuck with the alternative strategies.

    thank you so much

Hi rich. Sorry to hear about your wife. This thread is old and if you check out the original posters profile, she's not posting on the boards anymore. You may want to start your own thread in the holistic therapy section.

As you get stories about survivors and what treatments they did, remember one thing, unless the person had scans that show a known tumor was eliminated, you don't know if their survival is because of the treatment or because surgery eliminated all the cancer in their body and there was nothing else to treat.

For example. My breast surgeon told me I had a 70% chance of being "cured" by surgery alone. However that also meant I had a 30% chance of already having little cancer cells floating around my body waiting to grow. So I chose chemo to try to eliminate those buggers. If I'm still alive and cancer free in 10 years is it because chemo worked or is it because I was one of the 70% who didn't really need any further treatment after surgery?

rich1621, except for debiann's post, this thread is from 2008. It would be good to post on a new thread or make a thread for yourself.

Good luck, and prayers for your wife.
