I am 16 months from dx, 9 months from tx, and mastectomy was 3-19-07, so that might put me 16 months NED, and counting. Not too shabby.

    Susan - hi there -

    Dx - 2/3/06

    Bilat 3/1/06

    TAC chemo 3/22 - 7/6/06

    Rads 7/27 - 8/30/06   ooph 10/17/06  Started AI's 7/27/06

I'm not sure when the NED status starts - after mastectomy or after chemo.  I guess I say after chemo, so two years now.

I just had my 3rd cancer-versary on 7th July. DX'd on that day of 2005 with stage IIb grade 1 IDC with one node positive, did neoadjuvant chemo (12 weekly Taxol followed by 4 EC every four weeks), had a lumpectomy in March of 2006, did yet another 12 weekly Taxol followed by 30 x rads. Been on Tamoxifen and Lupron shot since February of 2006. And now I'm just as fine as I was before cancer!

    Your not a noob....LOL.

Hope this helps with the abbrevations:

AI's are hormonal drugs for women with estrogen/progestrone positive bc (there bc was fueled by the estrogen in their body)

IDC - most common type of breast cancer, invasive ductual carnicoma (cancer started in the ducts of the breast and can spread to the lymph nodes or other organs)

NED (No Evidence of Disease (or commonly known as remission) - its everyone's friend here!

    Dx - diagnosed

    TAC - type of chemo

ooph - oopherectomy - surgical removal of ovaries, had mine removed due to estrogen positive bc

I hope I have helped out!
