Hi, I had the lumpectomy with sentinel lymph node biopsy and had 1 sentinel node positive and the other sentinel node negative. The nodes were right beside each other. I am scared that there is more nodes involved because my tumour was 2.5 cm and the sentinel node was 1cm positive within a 1.4 cm lymph node. Just wondering what the size of your lymph nodes were when they were tested positive for cancer? ( I just finished my second cycle of chemo, I am doing 6 high dose and then I am doing 3 weeks of radiation)

    Thanks so much,

    Heidi

Are you not having axillary node removal done?  I had two sentinal nodes removed and one had cancer therefore they then removed the rest of my nodes (which, kiss the sky, were all clear))

No they decided to just start with the chemo. I would of liked more nodes taken but the surgeon thought chemo would be best. I can have the axillary node removal after chemo but haven't really decided on that yet. Not sure if it is worth it after chemo. The Radiation doctor wants me to do 3 weeks of radiation now. You are so lucky the rest of your nodes were clear. Hope that is my story. How big was your tumour and the sentinal node?
