Sleep?

I have Ambien CR for sleeping and also use ativan. The Ambien is 6.25 mgs. (I take 2) and it usually keeps me sleeping about four hours. Sometimes I then take a couple of Ativan to go back to sleep. But Now the Ambien is not working at all. I wonder if I can take more? I am in a weird situation here since I just switched from an HMO to PPO and I only have a new oncologist. Anyone willing to tell me how much they take of either. it really sucks to be so tired and then not be able to sleep!

I tried Regular Ambien when I was 1st Diagnosed.  It only let me sleep about 2-4 hrs.   And made my Then Vertigo 10 times worse.  So I stopped after 2 nights.

I ended up trying Melatonin (inexpensive-over the counter.  I paid $55 for my Ambien)  I only need 3mg & it helps me sleep throughout the night.  If I dont think I will sleep good.  I sometimes take 6 mg.

Read up about it- Its seems to be good for several things.

Hope you can get some much needed sleep.

I took 5mg of Xanax but there were nights I just did not sleep. And I know that I am not alone. I would get on these boards at 3am and they were rocking with gals from the US who also could not sleep. My best sleep was from 5am to 7am. I took naps during the day. Fortunately, I do not work a "job" so I could sleep whenever I felt like it. It took about 5 weeks after chemo to sleep through the night unaided. I also took benedryl some nights.

Thanks enjoylife, I just bought a bottle of Melatonin. It really did not do anything for me, but I'll throw it away.
