AFTER TREATMENTS VISITS?

I JUST WANT TO KNOW WHETHER IT IS REQUIRED TO FOLLOW UP WITH MY SURGEON

AFTER THE LUMPECTOMY 10/07.  HE WANTS TO SEE ME AFTER 6 MONTHS AND AGAIN IN 3 MONTHS. 

DOES EVERYONE ELSE DO FOLLOW UPS VISITS AFTER THE SURGERIES EVEN IF YOU ARE OKAY AND DO NOT REQUIRE ANY MORE SURGERIES. OR IS THIS REALLY NECESSARY.

I think one follow up is pretty standard, although my surgeon had me see him 6 months after surgery, too. Maybe they just want to admire their handiwork

Usually the standard is for a follow-up twice a year for a physical breast exam. People have been know to turn up with enlarged lymph nodes or reoccurences in their scars so it's not a bad idea to get checked out.

my surgeon specializes in breast care only....and will see me in 6 months for my yearly mammogram, he will read them as well, and if i develop any problems he will see me in between visits....

From now on I will see my gyn for only female concerns that do not include the breast.

Will the GYN also do a breast exam when you see him/her?

If you get your surgeon and GYN visits spaced out then you can have someone doing a breast exam every 6 months.

I think my surgeon said 6 months follow up for a year, but not sure after that. I'm thinking too, unless there are problems, why should see them again?  Goodness, had my gall bladder and ovary out in 05 and never saw either surgeon after that.  Did see the assistant to get the staples out, but that was it.

This is my first time on this site.  So not sure what I am doing.  Follow up stuff after surgery, think your right, not sure is ness. if not having problems.

my surgeon has already scheduled me for a 6 mth follow up with a mammo and mri.. i am kinda glad about that... at the very least she is a breast specialist who is following up they are the ones who know best i am sure she has seen it all and who better than her
