I have recently found out that I carry a gene mutation at CDH1 which is estrogen recepter positive and results in an 83 percent incidence of gastric cancer and 42-50% likely hood of lobular breast cancer. It is part of the Hereditary Diffuse Gastric Cancer syndrome (HDGC)

I have had gastric cancer twice with a partial then total gastrectomy and am currently on tamoxifen due to the high risk of breast cancer. I am interested to find others with information on this type of mutation.  I had my blood tests thru University of Vancouver, BC.  Most of the info on this gene mutation relates to the gastric cancer consequences but since I have survived that by 16 years I am hoping to thwart the breast CA as well.  I am being followed by a breast clinic at Northwestern University and am currently on Tamoxifen which has me flashing every hour on the hour.  I  had a hysterectomy 10 years ago when my 2nd gastric ca was discovered.

Thanks...
