If you can call walking for 5 minutes running for 1 really running! Tongue out But at least my butt is up off the couch!  Besides after my heart surgery they want me to really really ease back into running.  My heart rate gets pretty high so I need to alternate walking and running.  It felt good until I woke up sore this morning!  But that won't stop me from going again!

Jill...Have you heard about and/or considered following the coolrunning program towards running a 5K: http://www.coolrunning.com/engine/2/2_3/181.shtml ? I highly recommend it.

And good for you for getting out there! It can only reap benefits!

I've seen that one and I'll probably do that.  It seems to follow pretty much how I'm allowed to ease back into this.  I love that it's only 30 minutes (if I'm remembering it correct) since that's all I have to give these days!

    Jill

I am new to running, as of the past year. I was a dedicated walker for many years, but felt the need to kick it up a notch to get ready for some hiking we did last summer. I am happy to say I have kept up with it since our hike. I've worked up to a little over 3 miles.I'm not very  fast, but I do have some big hills on my route. At 49, I never thought I would reach a point where I could call myself a runner! So good luck, I hope you get your stamina back quickly. I didn't realize you had had heart surgery.

Loved the pics of your little one.
