UPCOMING SITE IMPROVEMENTS

I really like the new look and features.
I especially like the feature when we edit we don't have to see those annoying "edit" and time words. Sometimes spelling needs mending and editing is a great feature.
Thank you for all the updates.

I love the vast majority of the site. The old logo with the woman with 4 different quadrants to her face I found creepy.
It seems to me on the old site when you logged in, you could tell if you had a personal message just by looking at your My Home hot button. Now you actually have to go to My Home. That makes me
.I love the Active Topics option. If that was available in the last site, I was unaware.
Thanks for all the hard work

Hi, Carol,
The private message notice appears on the black bar at the top of the page, the one underneath the new logo. The bar says "Forum Index - Active Topics - My Home - My favorite Topics - Private Messages". When there's a private message a number appears next to the words Private Message, showing how many messages you have. I'll so send you one so you can see if it works.

It may be because I have an old browser, but the new site is a jumbled mess. I am curious as to whether or not I will even be able to post.

I'm in the minority as I don't like the 'new' look - it seems cold and impersonal to me. And the new logo??? Blech!!! I suppose all the other changes are good though, whatever they are.....
-
I would like to reiterate my request that the text size in the composition box should match the text size that ultimately shows up in a post. Right now the text in the composition box is a little on the small side.
Thank you,
Diane

OK, the names are back on the left, thank you!!!

I like the color and I think I'll get used to it. I have trouble with transitions.
However..why is it that some messages are in smaller print than others?I also have trouble reading the lists of threads. The blue and the type of print are hard on my eyes and I can't really read it that well.
-
Like the change with the names back on the left above the avitars.

I'm somewhere between Ravdeb and Jaybird -- and Archie Bunker! ("Change? I hate change!")
! But I'll get used to it!But is there a place where browser recommendations are posted? Sushanna1 and at least one other member (Pondfrogs - can't see avatars) seem to be having browser compatibility issues.
Thanks,
Ann

Hi Mods,
If I go to log in, the little log in box on the top right side of the screen now "hides" my password, but it isn't long enough to "hold" my password! Thank goodness you guys put the old login screen back (was that there in the beginning of the change-over?).
I did like the speed of the little log in box, so it would be great if that was fixed!
Thanks everyone, Deb -
I love the new site, It seemed to have a few problems, At first, But it seems everything is back on track, Thank you so much.

I miss that the threads I visited are no longer highlighted (they used to be in red, I think). It's taking longer to find stuff I may have read but not commented on than before.
-
I have my (FIREFOX) browser set to trash cookies and cached pages whenever I exit. When I arrive here (BEFORE logging in), I see the two black boxes in the upper right hand corner for signing in. The boxes should be empty, but the "password" box displays asterisks like one would see after typing in a password. I thought maybe my password was being saved, but trying to sign in by adding my username and leaving the asterisks does not sign me in. If I type in my user name, then delete the existing asterisks and add my password, the sign-in works. HMMMM
-
badboob, I have exactly the same thing with my log-in. There are some asterisks already in the password box, but whatever it is, it's not my password - if I put type in my user ID and click to sign in, I get an error message. I can't type over whatever's there, so I have to actually erase whatever's in the password box and then type in my correct password. Very strange and a bit annoying but not a huge problem in the scheme of things. Still, I hope it gets fixed.
-
Badboob and Beesie (sounds like a strange sort of children's book duo, like the Betsy/Tacey books-remember those?),
You both worded the same exact issue I was trying to describe SO MUCH better than I did (check a few posts back!). Thanks! Deb
-
i have the same situation as Beesie described with the asterisks in the password box that don't work with my name. have to erase them to log in.

Diane,
That is one of the features Firefox offers. They call it "Recall" or something like that. Somewhere you probably got a prompt asking you if you wanted Firefox to remember that password. Sounds like you clicked "yes" as you don't have to re-type it in each time...
I'm a Mac user who started using Firefox so I could spell check my posts here (also so I could access Constant Contact for my business, but...) as I couldn't with Safari. The first time I logged in here and gave my password via Firefox, the program asked if I wanted "Recall" to remember it. I clicked yes and haven't had to type it in since. But until the newest change on the board was made, I still had to manually type it in when I logged in via Safari. I tried to log in Safari-style yesterday and got right to the forum index, so I'm thinking that some of the complaints we had when the other change was made - specifically about having to type in the passwords each time - were heard and the mods made changes accordingly...
-
No, Felicia...Firefox doesn't save any of my passwords. The weird thing here is that whatever password was "saved" wasn't mine.....It looks like they coded the box to show asterisks by default...
At any rate, it seems to be fixed now!
(((HUGS)))

Diane, same here. I never allow any of my passwords to be saved and whatever it was that was in the PW box, it wasn't my password. In any case, mine's fixed now too!
-
I also miss the color cues on thread titles. If I want to find a thread I've visited before, I really depend on the title being a different color than the threads I haven't looked at. Would love to see that reinstated.
-
Hi everyone, visited links should now show in a different color. Thanks!

Is there any way to go to a certain page on a long thread, or do you have to go through page by page?
I really miss seeing posters' location by their avatar...
