found a lump in the shower on 4/27.  Mamo on 5/5, ultrasound on 5/9, biopsy on 5/20.

I was diagnosed on 5/23 with DCIS (< 2 cm) then an MRI-guided biopsy showed multi-focal IDC (too small for the mamogram) that is triple-negative and axillary lymph nodes are likely to be involved.

I am 39 with no family history of the disease.  My boys are 10 and 6.

I got a port today and will start neo adj. next week.

Reading the triple-neg posts has given me some hope, so thank you to all that post your stories and info.

    Hi Econmom,

Things must feel like they are moving pretty fast right now.  I hope you have found an oncologist you really like because you will have a continued relationship with them.  Do you have questions about preparing for treatment?

Everyone here will be glad to help with any information you would like to have.  The women on this tread have an abundance of information.

I hope you can find peace this week end and just enjoy your kids.

    Warmly,

    Sadie

    Dear econmom,

I'm really sorry that you had to join this elite club but I found a lot of comfort and a wealth of information on the site once I started my neo-adjuvant chemo. So please let us know if there is anything you need or if you just want to 'talk' about it.  I was 46 when I diagnosed last September and I have a ten year old boy as well.

    Good luck with your treatment.

    Hi Econmom,

Sorry about your diagnosis, but while chemo is not fun (I won't lie), it IS very doable.  They have great meds now so that the side effects aren't as bad.  I can easily say for me that the hairloss was the worst.  But I am 3 years out now from your diagnosis (triple neg, grade 3) and feel great.  Chemo and right after will be a bump in your road but it will get better quick after that!

    Good Luck!  Shannon

p.s. let your friends and family help you when you need it

:( you are joining the triple negative club.  I am 7 years out from first diagnosis in October. No history of bc in my family as well.

I'm sorry about your diagnosis,I was you, one year ago almost to the day. And right now my hair is back to a cute short style, I'm doing all my follow ups, I won't lie it was a tough year but it really did fly by even though some days seemed so long.  I was on this site alot for emotional support information and humour and games so stay with us and we will help you anytime you have a question or a worry. I believe this site and the remarkable women on it carried me through my roughest days and I usually signed off with a smile.  I too had no family history that I knew off and was 47 when I started to fight for a proper diagnosis.  Hugs!
