Hi, My name is DebSue.I was dx 04/23/08.IDC-Stage 1- grade 3-,ER+/PR+ Her-2+.I am starting Taxotere,Carboplatnum and Herceptin at 2:15 today.I had b/c in 2001(homone -).It was a very fast growing ,very aggressive tumor.  I had a partial mastectomy both times.I had Taxotere and Adriamycin before surgery with the first b/c and I had 5-FU after surgery. I took the Decadron yesterday and had a headache,stomachache,and painful gas.Sorry I'm rambling. I just type in what pops in my head (at least somethings popping in it-for now anyway).

Hi caroinagirl, its freaky how fast this all happens isn't it.  I too had a very aggresive type of bc and was put on FEC then Docetaxols, the best thing to remember is to drink alot of water even if you don't feel like it.  The steroids they give you before giving chemo can cause major constipation so be sure to have a stool softener on hand just in case.  The reason you have to drink lots of water is to prevent a bladder infection the chemo meds can burn the inside of the bladder and that can cause an infection so I sipped all day long.

I'm glad something is popping in, I had days where I was even transposing words out loud, mind you I still say things like " it's as clear as the chin on my face" and get a weird look then a hard laugh but it's starting to feel a bit better.  Tiredness really brings on the faux pau language and typing.
