Yes...thank God everything went well.  She looked over my mammogram and said everything looked good and my next step is an MRI since I can't take the Evista and my mammogram in Dec.

I can surely manage that and pray that the rest of you are just as fortunate.

I don't have to see her again unless I feel I need to...she said my primary can handle it for now unless something comes up and I know my doctor will stay on top of it....she is also my cancer doctors doctor.

I am feeling much better about everything for now and a lot of worry off  my chest.

I wish you all the very best and keeping you all in my prayers and thanks for all the kind thoughts.

liveit--great news on the mammo.  When is your MRI? I thought I was going to have to advocate for myself when I went to the oncologist recently, but to my surprise he disagreed with the radiologist's recomendations to go back to the 12 month schedule.  He wants me to stay on my 6 month alternating schedule, so I will be having another mammo in Sept. He also suggested that I go for genetic counseling and testing, which I will probably do later in the summer. (I have family history of bc and colon ca).  And I will be going on Evista after I finish up the tamox in October (after a little break in between). I'm really not relishing the idea of another 5 year medication (and it's possible SEs), but since I do have early osteopenia now, it will help to prevent osteoporosis as well as invasive bc, so I think it's a good plan for me.

Anne,  I do not understand going to yearly anything when it comes to LCIS--the risk doesn't change-ever!  What is the point in doing yearly imaging?  These are rhetorical questions I will be asking my bs next visit.

How are you otherwise and hope you are enjoying summer!

While your theoretical statistical risk may seem unchanging, your increased risk for developing breast cancer AT ANY TIME is also constant. Increases in age increase possibility of BC independent of LCIS.

Anyone classified as High RIsk needs yearly imaging, because theoretical risk is not truly personal risk.

That was how it was explained to me.

Why are things coming over twice?...I had to delete one myself.

Let's see if it happens with this.

For me, doubling occurred when I previewed my post, and didn't when I posted, then edited. Does this happen for you too? (I also have a Mac, which may or may not make a difference.)
