For those of you who did Adraimycin. While I have no personal experience I have seem many others that were on it have slower hair growth in the beginning.
-
Anyone else still losing their eyebrows? My eyelashes are starting to make a comeback but eyebrows are getting thinner by the day.
-
My eyebrows didn't fall out until my very last treatment. They grew back by about 8 weeks.
-
Good Morning -
I am 2 1/2 months PFC. My hair has filled in nicely - salt & pepper. I like it and no more coloring for me either. I had these longer parts around my head. So I went ot my hairdresser yesterday and he cleaned it up. It looks so much better. I asked him when he thinks this will look like a typical short haircut. He said in a few months.
My eyebrows had thinned out during and after chemo, but have filled in to the point that I needed to get them waxed and threaded yesterday. No need for the eyebrow pencil anymore! Eyelashes are all the same length now. I can finally put mascara on again.
It does grow back - be patient.
Have a great weekend!
Marie

I am taking tamaxofin and my hair is really thick. I'm about 6 months PFC and it's about 2 inches and thick. I wouldn't shave it if I were you. Just let it grow. Mine started to grow before my last treatment. I never lost all my lashes or brows they just thinned. They grew back already. Good luck to all.

Does anyone have any product recommendations for hair that is only 2" long at the longest, leaning to very curly on top (and sticks up with the straighter hairs that came in first), sticks out straight on the sides. Back is straight and sort of waves to one side. I'm not ready to go topless, but these issues are part of the reason why:-). Thanks! -
Last chemo was 9/22, - Eyebrows are reappearing, - yay!
Not much new on top of my head or lashes, though. To add insult to injury, - I am getting a mustache??? (I just bought some lip waxer strips to try! )
-
My face was covered with white peach fuzz about 3 months PFC. It eventually went away. Eyebrows were crazy heavy, they calmed down too!
-
mommom my hair is the same length as yours and I was wondering what products to use too. Let me know if you find something you like.
-
My MO told me the other day to take biotin. Has this worked well for anyone?
-
Hi HomeMom,
I have not had chemo but have alopecea areata - my immune system basically attacks my hair follicles. My dermatologist has me take biotin. It seems to help with the AA. My husband visibly grew hair in his bad spot when he started taking it on my suggestion. It would be worth a try. (I have friends who take it for thinning hair as well.)
Best,
Martha

Lorbgoo, I don't have a clue. Maybe a wax type product - to kind of tame it and flatten it down?? Or, I've always heard of Bed Head type products but I guess you would use that if you want to embrace the hair that's sticking up on top?? -
Last chemo was Sep 18. Here's my current head of hair, basically 5 o'clock shadow on scalp. The penny is there for the camera to have something to focus on.
-
mommom I'm going to google it.
I use biotin and my hair is growing but it doesn't seem to be growing faster. My nails are super strong and hard though.
-
daisy thanks - I plan to start taking it. Maybe my husband should too!
-
Hair porn at 10 weeks PFC. Biotin, Nioxin products, coconut oil massage at night. Not sure if any of that is working, I am hoping for an I meant to do that pixie by Christmas!
-
Puffin, - I am much like you, - also the same amount of time pfc, - hoping to look like Bow and/or slv soon!
My dermatologist suggested biotin, too, but I am waiting until my 'switch' surgery is performed before I start any new supplements!
-
Bow, great hair!
-
Bow - your hair looks nice -by Christmas it should be so cute!
-
Here's this week's hair shot, waiting for hair to grow is like watching paint dry!
-
Wow Puffin. I scrolled back to last week & it looks like significant progress. Yeh, I agree about watching paint dry but I'm impressed with that much growth in only a week.
-
thanks MinusTwo, I do know it's more fun to pat my head this weekend, it feels like a soft cushion mat on my head.
-
wow that is a lot of growth puffin for only one week! Grow hair grow
-
Wow Puffin! You have me beat! My fuzz is not nearly that full!
-
puffin, love the penny on the head. That's so funny. Soon it won't show because it will be covered up by hair!
Here's a recent pic of me. (Sorry it's taking up so much space, don't know how to make it smaller). This is almost 7 months pfc but really only about 5 1/2 months of growth because I didn't start regrowth until about 5-6wks post. I've had 1 trim to the sides and back because it was getting puffy and like a ball on my head. And yes, I had curly hair before but it's tighter curls now. Also the gray is new because I colored it prior (brown), but think I'm going to keep it gray (!)😳
-
Bow , I am at the same stage post chemo as you and I don't have that much hair. I will post a picture when I'm home.
-
Great curls Lisa!!
I have quite a way to go, - barely a "5 o'clock shadow" on my head now. =/
-
I am 5 months PFC. I've had a few trims, mostly to texturized. Some days I tempted to keep the extreme pixie!!
-
how long is your hair now Bosum? I'm 6 months PFC and I have a little over 2 inches. Still to short for me as I don't feel likes it's fenimine enough so I wear my wig. Ugh
