Do you have them on a photo sharing site like Flickr or Photobucket?
-
No just in iphoto. Tried to just copy and paste.
-
Okay - trying this again - 6 months PFC and 6 weeks post Naturtint application (5N).
-
Ugh. I give up. Sorry for the annoying mulitple posts from me.
-
saralmom: The picture has to be "published" first in order for it to post. I could never figure it out, and then today it worked just fine! You can add it to a private Flicker account or you can post it for your eyes only on Facebook first and then from there, copy and paste here. It doesn't work directly off of our computers for some reason.
-
To publish photos I have a free blog that I set up with Google Blogger. I upload the photos to a "post" in my blog but I don't actually publish that post.
I know that some of you use flicker or photo bucket but I don't have accounts with them and I'm not comfortable ;ublishing my photos with those formats (privacy etc).
Once I've uploaded the photos to a blog post - while still in the edit mode - I can cut and paste them here. I think that they must need to be converted to some different format (other than on your computer or smart card) in order to cut and paste successfully.
That's how I do it.
-
Oh I should add that once I've cut and paste the photo here I can go back to my blog post and delete the photos or SAVE the post (not publish it).
-
Wow! I figured it out somehow - I don't even know how. I did upload to Flickr and it still wouldn't work for awhile, but something I just did worked.
Okay - so this today, officially exactly 6 months PFC and 6 weeks after my last application of Naturtint 5N. My hair was VERY gray salt and pepper after chemo. I colored it for the first time in December. My hair before chemo was pretty straight, and has definitely come in way curlier.
-
Here is my CURLY hair almost exactly 6 months after my last chemo. I shaved off the first 1/2" or so that was coming in almost colorless...did that when I saw that the brown hair was starting to fill in. It's maybe a little over an inch long now. I stopped wearing the wig about a month ago, and can tell that it really is growing fast now. I've never had curly hair before but am excited just to have hair at all! Thanks to everyone here for the photos and encouragement!
Teri

MBJ-does your hair stick out because of the curls? what would happen if you didn't put the straightening product on it? My hair is getting crazy!!!!!!!!!! and I don't know what to expect.
-
I love going thru this photos and especially seeing the 6-month PFC ones. I will be there in another month and am looking forward to reaching that point with my hair. Still thinking about getting a trim as it seems that the hair above my ears is getting a little wild and have to keep pushing behind my ears and smashing down. How soon did everyone get that first trim?
As for the exchange surgery on March 30th, I was told that I needed to discontinue the baby aspirin, Vit E and the fish oil supplements, but I figure Biotin is okay.
-
Saralmom, you look great. Nice color.
Teri, like your curls, lots of hair.
-
Love these 6-month photos - thanks! I am at 5 months and having trouble keeping the wig on my head because of my hair, so I have to get myself ready for the Great Unwigging. I will be heading to my hairdresser next week, hoping she can make me look like Halle Berry, but afraid I will look more look one of the Three Stooges. Oh well, remember I was bald as a cue ball five months ago, so not complaining.
-
saralmom & teri you both look beautiful!!
-
Teri you have so much more hair than I do for 6 months out! I'm so jealous! I can see why you stopped wearing you wig already. Looks great!
I'm still nervous to go wigless - my hair still seems too short for it to seem like a purposeful haircut. But like many of you have said - it wasn't long ago that I had no hair at all, so this is progress.
-
I have dreams almost every night about having my hair back. This has truly been one of the hardest things to deal with for me. I know that makes me sound vain or maybe shallow but my hair was one of the things I liked the most about my looks. I have 2 treatments left, (march 25th) I am really hoping to have enough hair (before the end of the summer) to get rid of the wig. You women inspire me and give me strength to keep pushing through! Hugs to you all!
-
So mnay grat new hair pictures!!!!
Losing my hair was the hardest thing I have ever been through and getting it back was the most rewarding. It will be back before you know it!
tnbcRuth: It would stick out no matter what--doesn't matter what I do to it it just sticks out from the sides like I"m coming in for a landing, lol!
I couldn't help myself--I bought the 3 day straight product. I will let you know if it works. I usually go to bed straight and wake up curly so we shall see!
-
Wow ladies great pictures. You give us all so much hope by sharing. I am thinking about getting a tattoo that says believe with the L being a pink ribbon, I just don't where to put it.
-
On the nape of your neck
-
Dbug you don't sound vain at all! I felt the same way and I didn't have the best relationship with my wig either...didn't treat her very well. Keep pushing thru...you're almost done!
-
Joan - I got my first trim when I got my first color in December - about 4 months PFC. It just seemed like it needed to be cleaned up - around the ears a bit like you said, and also at the nape of my neck. I have seen women at the chemo center with their hair growing in, and it looks like they don't trim it (prob seems counterintuitive after being bald) and their hair kind of grows in like a mullet. My cousin is my stylist, and she convinced me that trimming it would help it have a more deliberate shape and also help it to grow in. Plus, I had some stray hairs here and there that were longer than the rest because they either didn't fall all the way out, or came in before the rest. Looked kind of funky.

Your photos look amazing!! It's so nice to see even a little hair it's a sign that we're moving past all of this
-
Poodleluvbug, I love it. We could be sisters, I look same. I put foam while is wet to go on my right side. Is it starting to curl at the back? Mine does.
-
StacyA-Thanks...I agree...having some hair definitely makes me feel that I can put this cancer behind me.
Nikola-yes...mine is wavy in the back...I never had curls before so I am looking forward to seeing how it looks as it gets longer. -
Lookin' Good poodleluvbug!
-
I love your growth poodleluvbug! It looks very thick and uniform!!
-
poodleluvbug...great pic. Your hair reminds me of mine right now. It is wavey in the back also. I am going to try to stop by my old hair salon tomorrow (haven't been there in a year) and see if my former hair stylist happens to be in. I bet she won't even recognize me wiht my new "do". Just want to ask her what she thinks about getting a trim and maybe some color.
Funny thing today... I went swimming and was in kind of a rush when I left the gym. Took a quick shower and didn't really think to take another glance in the mirror or comb my fuzzy hair. Sort of out of the habit, LOL. So, off I go and then caught a look at myself in my rear view mirror.... HORRORS! The stuff is sticking straight up in every direction, major colics everywhere. And I had to stop by "For Eyes" to get my glasses adjusted. What to do?? Stopped at a little out of the way convenience store to buy a comb and bottle of water to remedy the situation. That's when I decided it was time to make a trip to the hair salon!
-
Sara, Teri and Poodle--you look gorgeous! My clear peach fuzz is longing to have length and color like yours! And Toni30-- you made me laugh with your Berry vrs. Stooges comparison. That would be my fear, too--ha!
-
Nikola and Poodle, Love the pictures and descriptions! Mine looks the same, and its very wavy/curly in the back. Kinda fun in a way. Can't keep my hands off it!!! Mine is also very tight or close to my scalp....can't fluff it out at all...kinda like a man's hair...now that I think about it...exactly like my biological father's hair...hmmm. I do wish I had something around the hairline framing my face. I look soooo much better with bangs, but they're like 6 months off or more. But I go out and never think twice about it now...goodbye wig
