Allison: Your hair looks great! I so wish mine had come in straight instead of curly so I could spike it like that. So cute! How does one post pictures here??? Can't figure it out.
-
Looks fabulous Allison. I agree with MBJ. Mine is so curly that I rival any poodle. My hair is almost three inches long, but curls so tightly that it looks much shorter. Yours is adorable!

You ladies look great! I've always loved short hair, it shows off your features so much better. But I understand the desire to get back to whatever your normal length was. I hope I look half as good when I start regrowing. LadyM, your hair is a fabulous color. And I'd love to be able to rock the spikes like Alison.
-
Alison and LadyM;
Your hair looks great!!! Our those real eyebrows or penciled in? I am 6 weeks post chemo and although I can see great growth in my eyebrows, my hair is really sketchy on top and I have no eyebrows whatsoever. I may be repeating myself...I guess chemo brain is still a problem too!

ladyinbama- Thank you so much, my hair actually came in pretty dark like my natural color, but there was some grey mixed in there too...eeek...so I color it, my hairdresser uses a really good color on me that is not too harsh and it's been great.
hmh23- Those are real brows, mine grew back very fast, almost as quick as they came out, I was really lucky, the lashes were not as quick to come back, but with mascara it's not too noticeble I hope:)
-
Your hair looks great!! Such pretty eyes, too....
-
hi
thanks everyone for your kind words
it sure makes you feel better xxxx
-
You both look great - Alison - wonderful to see you looking so good. Mine is very grey (3.5mths PFC), but I can see some of my darker hair starting to poke through -just trying to decide what colour to go now to go with the white/grey/dark hair LOL. Eyelashes and eyebrows completely back and quite alot darker than they were before.
-
hi hereandnow
i believe you was on the same chemo as me and the same march chemo thread
nice to hear from you and pleased your doing well xxx
-
LadyM;
Didn't even notice mascara. You look wonderful. What I meant to say in my earlier post was that I have absolutely no eyebrows but great growth in my eyelashes. Again I am going to use chemo brain as excuse.
Where are you being treated in Mississauga? I am a fellow Canadian (Sudbury born) but have lived in US for 26 years. We have a condo at Yonge and St. Clair so get back to Toronto a few times a year to visit family.
Have a great day!
Heather

hi hmh23
it took me at least 8 weeks after chemo to grow my eyebrows and lashes bk
i haven't pencil them in or coloured my hair
what ever has come back is how i am
i have thought about getting a colour but ain't got the guts lol xx

Alison: I'm doing FEC and taxotere too. Not a whole lot of ladies on this forum with that mix, at least not in the U.S. It seems to be more popular in the UK and Canada. I did ok on FEC, my tax has been delayed because of this infection they can't figure out (I'm in the hospital now). Anyway, glad to hear your hair and brows grew back well. I had been a little worried about that after reading that thread about taxotere and hair loss.
-
hmh23
I'm at Credit Valley Hospital in Mississauga
-
Anybody ever mess with false eyelashes? I look like a plucked chicken now after the Taxol, 2 more rounds to go and then the wait for them to grow back in. I don't like to wear my wig so wear a scarf and I feel like I get stared at and whispered about when I go out. I hate going out in public, but am forced to do so even though I put it off as long as I can. What does one do with the bottom lashes? Do you wear the false ones there also or pencil them in or what?
-
I kinda wish my onc hadn't said by four weeks I'd be seeing growth, because it's just the tiniest bit of useless baby bird fuzz every 50th follicle. I'm so ready to get this show on the road, don't care how or what comes back, just to get started. I think I may keep a buzz cut for a while. Loved it, looked great.
That seems so far off now that I've even started dreaming of hair : (

Lady
I also had the mix FEC and Taxotere, and I must say that my hair was coming in while on Taxotere. I am now 9 months past chemo and hair is growing and my eyebrows and lashes came in nicely also. So do not worry about your regrowth, It will grow back. I am still on Herceptin till January.
-
Ladyinbama: "sorry to hear you are in the hospital. Rest up and get well soon.
Anetnut: I hear false eyelashes during chemo can be dangerous due to the chemicals in the glue and the risk of pulling skin off with the lashes. I bought some inexpensive Revlon waterproof eyeliner and did the Cleopatra thing until my lashes came in. The smokey eye look is popular and no one ever knew I didn't have lashes. I also uses eyebrow powder-Clinique has an inexpensive one and if you aren't handy you can buy the brow forms to get a perfect brow. me I am a bit of a klutz so it was easier to draw on.
-
re: Biotin: I know some of you expressed concerns about Biotin--all it is is Vitamin B7, so unless you can't use it because you are still doing chemo, it doesn't do any harm. If you are growing hair in places you aren't used to having it, blame the hormone disruption from the chemo.
