Hello all I changed my avitar to reflect my hair growth. I st ill have no url to post directly sorry about that. Wish all happy growth.
-
Bold you look stunning. I love the hair color and I am jealous. I put blonde hair coloring on and it has an orange "tint" to it. sighh... to only have my hair color back again.
-
Bold you look fabulous!
Enjoy the look x
-
Your so sweet to say that Jaimieh. and Judy! To get that uber blond look I used born blond max. I had a little brassy color also so I used a purple shampoo to nix any orange color that was left. Fun and easy. The born blond will turn even the darkest hair blond. I was dishwater blond, gray and clear when I grew back. ( I use that term loosely (grew back), well not bald anymore.) Girls just want to have fun!!!!!!
-
I'll second that Bold!
Have a good weekend everyone!
Hugs, Judy x

Love your blonde hair, Bold!! Mine is reddish brown, but I'd love to go back to blonde. My short, frizzy, curly hair has been driving me crazy for awhile now, but a couple of days ago I tried a new product that gives my hair body and makes it look better. If you are looking for something to give your hair some structure, try Re-Works by Paul Mitchell. It's the best thing I've tried in a long time and I've tried lots of products.
I'm also on Arimidex -- started March '09 and main SEs aren't too bad -- mostly dry skin, achy joints and hot flashes. Hope you are all doing well. --bonnie

Bold:
You look great - now I'm definately thinking of going blonde...
-
Thanks all. I am really enjoying it too. Last night I went to a Halloween party as a black angel. I just got to get my act together on posting pics. You guys are probably the only people that would enjoy seeing them. I hope everyone has a happy day after.
-
Bold - you are FIERCE!!! Love the hair and the new photo!!!
I had my second professional coloring on Saturday - maintaining the rich dark brown. I should have taken a photo of how cool my stylist got it to go - I'll try to duplicate it and get a photo - it's actually long enough to be sort of spiky and full in back, with spiky bangs. The back is still very wavy-curly and doesn't really do much of anything, but I have been using a combination of products to help it not be so afro-y. Sorry, Rachel, nobody took a picture during the boat show of the afro. It really is getting large and curly, which I am fighting with product, blowdrying and then flat-ironing what I can, and adding more product to pull it out and make it spiky. might as well have fun with it, right?
-
Bold - I am so glad you posted the picture of your blonde hair in your avatar. I was a natural blonde but as my hair grew out PFC, it is much darker. It is good to see what my hair would look like blonde even though very short.
Tomorrow I am going to get my hair trimmed and colored for the first time. I am going to ask her to dye it blonde. Although my hair color doesn't look bad at all - it is just not "me".

Does your hair grow when taking Taxol? I just finished 4 rounds of A/C.
Splitting hairs,
chinabluw
-
Dear chinablue:
My hair did not. My eyelashes and eyebrows went shortly after I finished my last Taxol, as did my fingernails which were incredible up until my 2nd Taxol treatment. I'm still waiting for them to grow out. They've been turning black and breaking off. (From what I understand this is not a common SE from Taxol - usually happens with the sister drug Taxotere - I just got 'lucky'.) My lashes and brows are coming in fine now, and hair is progressing. (My avitar pic is from Friday.)
I think some have had hair start to grow back while on Taxol, so don't be discourged. I may be in the minority, I don't know. The other posters here should be able to share their experience. Best of luck!
Be good to you -

Hi to all. I finally decided to stop fighting the curls and work with them instead. It was just a waste of time for me to flat iron in this humidity, I bought the entire collection of Foxy Curls by Bed Head. It is still not my idea of a hair style, but at least I have some control.
Have a great big hairy day all!

It takes a while, i am 1 year post chemo, i have alot of hair, but still thin on top, has been very slow -
-
Littlered. You are on your way sistah!! It is coming in even and thick!!! Congrats.
Good for you Lisa! Its hard to fight nature. You could make any hair look good. You are a trained expert. Would love to see pics if you are up to it.
It seems my hair has come back the same as it was before. Wavy, thats cool. I can go straight or curly. I use a styling wax. It enables me to control cow licks and also lets me lie it down or spike it. In the avatar I actually made it into a Mohawk, for fun with my leather jacket. I really believe that we should not take our hair to seriously just have fun. ( easier said than done). I remember crying my eyes out when I lost it and not being able to stop strocking my head when it started coming back in. (Still do)
Chelev: Thanks for the compliment. I still have not even cut my hair. Can you believe it!! I just clean up my neck myself.
Grow in peace.

I am just exploring waxes and styling creams - never had to use them, always just used things to smooth and gloss, because I was mostly just blowdrying and flat ironing. It is fun - and I plan on picking up a spiking wax this week, the one I am using is very creamy but doesn't get it spiky. Here is 32 weeks pfc and after color this weekend. I should have taken a photo of it after the stylist did it - I tried to recreate her look, but she had the front even smoother - I may have to break out the larger flatiron maybe and try again.

I apologize for this photo being so large - I scaled it to "small" and this huge thing popped in!
-
Chelev...your hair looks great. I am only 20 weeks out and look to you for inspiratation!
Stef58: It will all come in the same adventually. The white fluff starts it out, then some darker hair (5 o'clock shadow), and of course the gray if you had some before! It does even out...
-
Chelev you look F-A-B-U-L-O-U-S.... I finished chemo Sept 8th and have about an inch of hair and it's coming back thick and curly...eeks! Always had straight hair before... not complaining I'm glad it's coming back! Looking forward to having as much as you do!!!
-
Dang girl!!! Chelev you look Maaavalous! You would never know your were ever folically challenged.
-
chelev:
You look fantastic! I think you've done a great styling job!
-
Chelev- You look wonderful!! I love your hair like that! I'm only 4 weeks PFC, so I am another looking to you for inspiration.
Some of mine is coming back really dark and in other spots, it is white. I didn't think I had much in the front so I tried the mascara trick that I read somewhere (here I think) and I really have more than I thought.
Wishing speedy hair growth to all!
Mary

Hi all,
Chinablue - My hair did not grow back on Taxol. I did 4 AC and 4 Taxol. After the taxol, my brows and lashes all went and came back quite quickly. I am just over 3 months pfc now and my hair is coming back slowly. I am still in a headscarf. My nails did not fall out though.
Chelev - you look gorgeous!!!!! We are all looking at you for inspiration!
Have a good evening all,
Hugs, Judy xxx
-
Chevel, your hair looks great! I cannot beleive how long it is!!!
Bold, I will get some pics up soon. I do not take good self portraits, but I am out of town with friends this weekend and there will be cameras everywhere.

Wow, thanks to everyone!!!!! Yes, it is hard to believe that just a few months ago I was very folically challenged (to any newcomers, I had a really terrible case of folliculitis for three weeks following chemo and did not have any hair growth for weeks following and really slow growth on top) and it is thick all the way through. I'll be experimenting with new ways to style this curly, wavy, hair and put up pix as I come up with different methods.
Lisa - you are LONG overdue to show us some hair, lady!! I am sure yours is much longer than mine now - you were way ahead of me in growth when we met earlier this summer.
Mary - yes, there were some of us using mascara or brow colorant (looks like mascara) to fill in some of the light spots - it is amazing when you put color on at how much you really do have - it's just clear or gray and very hard to see. That's why some of us earlier this summer were trying to get anything and everything on our hairs and scalps to color it even if it didn't last, just because we were so desparate for something!!
I'm through with bottle #3 of biotin and am wondering if I should keep taking it? I don't want to jinx myself and stop when it seemed to be working so well. Anyone at or beyond the 7 month mark not taking or still taking it?
-
Chelev, you really do look great!
What's this your hair may not grow back once on taxotere? Please tell me it's not so?
Janet
-
Chelev - you look amazing!!! What is folliculitis? What are the symptoms?
-
Chelev, I LOVE your hair - you look totally amazing!!!!! I am 19 weeks PFC and have dark fuzz on my head but my scalp still shows everywhere and it is very thin on top. My onc said she has never had a patient whose hair didn't grow back and she thinks that the Arimidex may be slowing things down. I'm still wearing a wig or head scarf - I'm a long way off from a full head of hair. Now I'm nervous because of the Taxotere ...... is it really possible that it won't grow back. Shirleyl, please say it ain't so.
