OMG I forgot what school is like!

So I had my first class today.  I completely forgot what college is like!  Yikes!  And summer term on top of it.  I have to read 4 chapters by tomorrow!  Thank goodness I only took one class.  I had thought about taking 2.  The rest of the classes on online now.  I'll watch the classes after they happen.  I could sit in via the internet live but I can't be on from 7:30-9 a.m. when I've got Samuel running around!  So I'll watch during nap or after bedtime.  Holy cow!  So this is how my students feel?  NO!  I don't assign that much in one night

Jill....I hope that your husband is contributing his share to the household upkeep and childcare? Since he wants you to remain in place as the stable breadwinner, he should be more than supportive of your efforts to enhance your marketability....right?

Yes he does.  Sometime he does too much because he takes over what I was planning on doing so I'm left feeling like I didn't get "my job" done quick enough for him.  He does all the laundry, vaccums and (get this) cleans the bathrooms!  I've never ever had any reason to complain about how much he helps  well except for when I was getting up with Samuel EVERY night

Hi Jill,

I think summer classes are sped up because of the limited weeks in the summer. The school usually crams 12 or 18 weeks of classes into 6 or 8 weeks.

I always tried to avoid taking summer classes--definitely math classes--I needed the full 12 weeks for those.

It was fun going back to school as a "grown-up." Some students were nice and friendly, and others just saw through me. I learned to push my way to the front of the line for the shuttle--following the younger students (especially male) example. Only way to get one of the last empty seats on the shuttle.

I had a great 2 years at local university and graduated summa cum laude. Highest honors!! Quite an accomplishment for a 50 year old at the time.
