After 3 months of Taxatere and 12 months of Herceptin & 12 weeks of ray do any of you suffer from very bad pains in arms and find it hard to walk? I cannot sleep at night due to the pain sometimes.

hi jwade
yer me to i did 3 doses of fec5 3 doses of Taxatere 3 weeks of radiotherapy and now having to do a year of herceptin into my second one wich was done on tuesday. My pains in my arms started just before i started radio and are getting worse by the day somtimes at night i wake up crying with the pain. I got some tablets from the doc but after a few days they gave me the trots so i had to come off of them. My onc told me to buy ibuleive which you rub into your skin it takes it off a bit. susie

Thanks for your note Sueemily (Susie) - well good to know it is not just me - but sorry to hear you suffer too. But if we get free from cancer it is a small price to pay - I used to wake up crying in the night too. Two weeks ago my doctor put me on "Mobic" tablets - they make me feel sick but the pain is bearable. Give them a try - I actually have been getting 3 hrs straight sleeping on them and not waking up in agony nor in tears. I think the pain might come from the Taxatere - at least you are over the worst now - Herceptin doesn't seem to have too many side effects. Although I am 12 months down the track from Taxatere and 6 months after herceptin. I finished treatment in 2007 December.
Take car and let me know how you are going.
Kind regards....Jan (Melbourne, Australia)

Pain.
Yup.
On the mobic, too.
It helps.
Physical therapy helps.
Finished chemo (Taxotere / FEC) 16 Aug 2005. Completed (MAJOR) rads December 2005. Last Herceptin April 2006;

All kinds of pains I never had before. Not sure what part of treatment is causing what. (rads, tamox, surgery, etc.) It's bearable, but constant. One thing I've heard that helps keep me sane is that cancer usually doesn't hurt, so I'm attributing my pains to treatment.
