Hi everyone:

I had my left breast removed 4 years ago and now just had the right one removed a few days ago.

I'm seeing some fantastic post-operative stuff online (camisoles, bras, etc.) mostly from U.S. online retailers.  Does anyone know which stores ship to Canada for a reasonable price?  I'm not able to pay "double" the cost of the item for shipping.

I would be spending my money in a "hot minute" if I could get a reasonable shipping rate on my purchases.

My guess is that if I go to a local boutique, I'd be paying double what I see online.  Considering the Canadian/U.S. dollar is "at par" right now, I'd rather take my chances online.

Help???

Hi Cheryl,

You definitely can get some good deals online. Why don't you contact the online sites directly and ask about shipping rates to Canada? Janet Park at Park Mastectomy Supply is happy to talk to customers. The women who run Still You are also very nice. Many of the online sites are "cottage" industries, run by women out of their homes. The women are professional, but I've also found them to be generally warm and helpful. There's one Canadian site I know of: BreastFormShopping.com. That might be a good one to check out.

You might wish to check out janacsportswear.ca; it might not be what you are looking for but they are Canadian. I have tried their prostheses and bras and I love them - they are very comfortable; sort of like a bean bag. Good luck with it!! As for your Toronto weather, I am in St. John's and would love some heat. The max today was 9oC!!! This is because there are a lot of icebergs and ice - pretty but a pain for us locals waiting for summer.

I'm a huge fan of the janac sports bras. They are the only thing I've worn that stays 100% in place and comfortable through any and all the yoga poses. Haven't tried the prostheses.
