'Swingtown' anyone?

Okay, so the show is about 'marrieds' and not 'singles' but did anyone else see it and like it? I found it to be quite titilating and cannot wait to see what the series holds. I hope it goes beyond its summer schedule.
-
I liked it also. I'm looking forward to more episodes. It's nice to have something to watch in the summertime too.
-
"Titillating" indeed, Jay! There was something about the pauses that made it hot and then that "awakening" of the more "innocent" couple was exciting. I loved the scene with the hands, didn't you? I've never had group sex, but Swingtown made it seem veeeery attractive!

-
No, no 'group sex' for me either.
Not recently anyway.
I did go to the CBS web site and comment that the show should continue (as opposed to being cancelled).
I find that now (over the past year or so) I really need to 'see' the action to get motivated. Before BC and chemopause/menopause I was hot-to-trot daily and thought about sex 24/7. Now I need the visual stimulation to get going. Well, it helps a lot anyway so I really liked this program as it brought back memories of my (horny) fun times as a teenager in the 1970's.
-
FYI, y'all....it's on again tonight. Hope it's sizzlin'!

-
Thanks for the info .....
I was getting bored with everything I watch theses days of repeats.
-
Okay, I loooooooooooved this episode! This show must be renewed after this season because it is really fun and sexy!
I swear I get totally in the mood after seeing these couples 'play'!
-
i thought it was pretty good. couldn't wait to see the second show on Thurs....I had just had a lumpectomy earlier in the day so i can't say that i can give you a honest undrugged opinion.....hahah
-
I'm with y'all here! Hot stuff! There's something about the pauses and the looks that they all give one another, ya know. They do seem to be hinting at alot of upcoming drama too, what with the husband of the newly-initiated couple taking that lawyer's business card (a roving eye already?!) and the woman in the swinging couple expressing jealousy (I think?) over the younger stewardess.
And Jay, how about them all being with the airlines....betcha like that too...
!
However trite this is (like the whole show isn't?), I was drooling over that red dress!!!!! Sizzlin'!!!!!

Hi Marin,
We met on Saturday at the Komen Race for the Cure while waiting for the bus. Thanks for telling me about this message board. I've responded to three people already . . . Not many people out there who are 1) triple negative; 2) have recurrence that came back as IBC; 3) are divorced with kids. That leaves me with a lot of breastcancer.org topics to choose from. . . Never thought I'd be this lucky ; -(
Valerie

Oh Valerie, you adorable girl, I'm SO happy to see you've come here! You'll be astounded by the outpouring of support and love from these women! We have plenty of triple-negs and lots of women with IBC too. Don't know about those with one type whose recurrence was IBC, but if you post on the "...second cancer" board, someone's bound to show up (or maybe many?).
Stick around, girl! We talk about everything from TV shows (this thread, to whit) to messy divorces to coping during treatment. You're gonna love it!
PM (private message) me too, Valerie, once you've found your way around- you can click on my screenname and write a msg. and then receive replies in the inbox under "My Home."

It's on again tonight, y'all....and looks toasty!

I had my mom tape it for me since I was out of town - can't wait to see it!!!
-
I heard about his show but haven't seen it. What nght is it on - might have to take a look.
-
Pepper...It's on Thursday nights at 10 here on the east coast. This Thursday, another network (ABC?) is premiering what looks to be a Grey's copycat...a medical soap, at the same time as Swingtown. Decisions, decisions!
I have a friend who, five years ago, just quit watching TV, cold turkey, because she was finding it taking up too much of her time in a very meaningless way. I've been so frustrated with my own laziness lately that I'm thinking of trying a modified version of her quit. She says its one of the best things she's done for herself and is very freeing. Hmmmmmm...

I like the show too, and the music is pretty cool! I was in grade school in the 70's, and I am enjoying remembering the clothes from back then, and the styles homes were decorated in. I have to admit though, I started watching it because of Grant Show, I had a crush on him when he was on Melrose Place, lol!
-
I just watched last week's episode last night and can't wait to see to tonight's episode. Does anyone know how it's doing in the ratings? What is the word on the street about renewal?
-
Okay, I seriously LOVE this show! The sun hat? Yep, I had one like it. I even have a pic of myself at my then b/f's sister's wedding wearing something similar-looking. And, who is this Tom person? He's SO handsome! (I'm a big fan of facial hair) I, too, had a crush on one of my freshman teachers (Mr. Attridge!). Loved Laurie's white halter top - oh how I miss those days! I'm so glad the music from that era is still popular. Pot brownies? Had those, too!
-
Oh I lurrrve 70s music! Sounds like I've been missing a good show. I'll have to catch it next time.
I wasn't one, back in the day, to dilute my stuff with chocolate though. LMAO
-
Last week:
I am strong!
I am invincible!
I am WOMAN!!!
This week????? (I love this show!)
-
Am I the only one watching this program??? I guess that since I'm not doing "it" then I may as well be watching "it"!!!
-
I try to watch it, Jay, and love it when I do but, inevitably, I get a phone call in the beginning or middle and lose the story. Now I can't figure out who is doing whom! can you give a brief outline of the current situation?
~Marin
-
Marin, I guess my priorities aren't the same as yours - if I'm watching something I really want to watch then they have to leave a message!
I'm not the best at re-telling stories. Perhaps a recap is on the CBS web site?
-
Marin,
You can watch all the episodes in full at www.cbs.com/primetime/swingtown.
-
Thank you for that link LFarbs! I missed about the first 20 minutes of the very first episode, so I will check that out.
I'm still watching it; but I have to tape it since I am working most Thursday nights.
I can't think of the characters name right now, but the "uptight" one is very funny! I loved it when she ate those "magic brownies", lol!
-
I usually watch a taped version, too - better that way to review the sex scenes!!!
-
Am I STILL the only one watching this show??? I gues since that's so, and that I really like it, it will be cancelled.......
-
I was checking the Active Topics and saw this one and figured I'd drop in even though I am not single. I love the show, although it does remind me how old I actually am since I was in high school during that era. If you have Comcast On Demand, it's on there too so I don't tape any more of them. I think the music is great. I loved Melrose Place but can't remember what part Grant Show played....
-
He played Jake; on that episode that was a spinoff of 90210, he was the "older guy" that Kelly was dating.
I taped last Thursday's episode, but I haven't had a chance to watch it yet. Hopefully I will tonight or tomorrow.
-
Margaret, I'm 48 and was in H.S. also during that era. I like it even though I was only a teenager. We were having out own 'swinging' times!
I've never seen 90210 but I sure do like the looks of Grant Show now. He's the blonde with the moustache, right? I used to LOVE moustaches. Still do, but like goatees better!
I'll be out of town again this Friday but I'll watch it sans commercials when I get back!
