    Hello everyone,

Anyone know of alternatives for brain mets?  Or alt supplements to prevent damage of radiation.  All I could find was quercitin.

    Thank you.

Thanks AnneW, I did go to the brain mets site and got some info but not on alternative.  Looking for someway to protect my brain.  Appreciate you bumping it for me.  I will continue to do research, can't find much.

Susan Weed in her book Breast Cancer? Breast Health!  has recommendations on how to get thru radiation.  I can't find my book at the moment but if/when I find it, I'll post back.  Best wishes!

I posted this in the rad section also but thought I'd put it here since we are all interested in alts.

Just finished my first of three weeks.  Wanted to pass on info my alt dr gave me for those interested.

For side effects of radiation :

    1.  green tea extract 80% 300 mg 2x

    2.  melatonin 3-20 mg.  If wake up drowsy, you've taken too much.

    3.  Quercitin 500 mg 3X
    4.  Curcumin 500 mg 3X

    5. Banyan botanicals chaywanprash paste 1 tsp 2x.

She also suggested AKBAPlus True Botanicals Boswellia 1-3 3x.  I'm to find a combination with decadron that works best.  My radiologist is very open and I will be discussing it with him.

She also mentioned lithium 20mg 3x for neurotoxcity protection.

I'm also thinking about getting this brain fitness program that helped someone with chemo fog.  It seems impressive.

I'm not feeling to hot so I don't know when I'll get back on.
