Price of a new BRA

Hi Gals:
How much do you pay for a bra?
Reason I ask
is.. a long time now
I have not worn one
because could not find one
that does not bother me
rash, etc.. itching on surgery side
today I tried on 2
one was an uplift with underwire
$135.00
the other no underwire $75.00
seemed ok.. but.. bras have never
been comfy for me
I find that high
Note: this is in ONTARIO
VICTORIA'S .. never seen one here
we have La Senza, but
and comparable to Target I guess would be Walmart
I love the shops you have in U>S.
more choice

Oh Sierra. I thought $42 for a Victoria's Secret bra without an underwire was too high!
-
It depends on brand. I have bought a bra for as little as $9.99 and as much as somewhere around $70. Many of my bras are mastectomy bras with pockets. They run on the higher side. But...when I buy a bra to wear with contact forms (prosthetics that stick to the chest) I end up spending much less. I never wear underwire and rarely Victoria's Secret since most of their bras are underwire or have heavily padded cups. They don't work with the prosthetics that I have.
-
I usually pay around $45, but I don't need anything special and pretty much stick to Victoria Secret, although most recently I've found some really cute bras in Target for around $20. My mother, though, was large-breasted and needed a large size all around and alot of support, so she had to get specially fitted and paid much more. $135 though, Sierra, sounds too high, even for Canada.

Contact your insurance co, because they could (like mine does) provide you 4 free bras a year, you go to a specialty shop that deals with masectomy garments. I was so happy that my bras were covered by insurance and i paid nothing--so i bought myself a tankini for the summer, and that was only $50.
I hope this helps you!!!

There are not very many Victoria's Secret bras that fit me. I usually find mine at Nordstroms and have even found the brands that I like that are brand new in my size from eBay stores for a lot less than I paid (doesn't happen too often though).
I have to tell you though Sierra, that I have paid $75 for a bra but I've never paid $135 - that is really expensive.
-
I paid close to 90 when I first went bra shopping after surgery.
Only wore it a few times.
I'm getting mine from the Leggs/Hanes outlet catalog now. finally found one that really fit. Can wear them all day and till bedtime with no problems; they do have a soft underwire(wider than usual), but they fit my full figure very well.
I was wearing the leisure bras for a couple of years.

Hi Gals:
I SO APPRECIATE YOUR INPUT
Well, guess what
I aint biting on these bras
But.. having not worn one
for 8 yrs, thought ok
time to treat myself and get
a bit of an uplift. I am falling
down...
PS. I had a lumpectomy
and could use the little form
they put inside the bra to even me out
I could go without out this, it does not
show that much, but.. up to me
she tried that on me
didnt look at the price
likely cost $100.00 for that!
maybe not .. This was a specialty shop
you can easily get caught spending
mega bucks and then it not work out
I will go to Sears
and our Bay.. and see
Have a few little tank tops
and sort of wanted to look
nicer
)
RE: insurance What insurance? I have none
at all, no dental, no meds
Will keep you posted
Have a nice week-end

Sierra, since the US$ and the Canadian$ are about equal now, those prices seem VERY high.
Well, you can buy bras, incl. VS, online, but it's impossible to guess the fit; you really need to try them on. But, once you have a few styles you know fit you, then you can order online.
Since you haven't worn a bra in years, I don't suppose you need to worry about buying a whole wardrobe of bras.
Probably just a Sunday-go-to-meetin' and a Girls' night out version will do you just fine. -
Hi there Tina:
Yes, that just about sums it up
just for special occasions
PS I was out today
and tried on a Wonder Bra
which seemed not too bad
not as nice as the $130.00 PLUS TAX
BUT IT will do the job
So am off to a few more spots
tks... Be well
Hugs..
Sierra
