    Morning:

    Just wanted to ask

IF ANY of you have had a lung infection

    and been in hospital

    REASON is:

A family member of mine was recently released

Now, I dont have all details, but apparently

it was said at first it was pneumonia

This person has been through a great deal

    with CA.. (not breast)

I spoke with this person, and was informed

that it was a lung infection and they

don't know how he got it. I do know the individual

works very hard, and maybe too hard outside (not sure)

Why would they not know how?

    Can anyone answer me?

Myself, I can be a testy patient

as .. I ask WHY, and also get things

in writing, all reports, bloodwork etc

because I forget, and it is important to have

I call it well informed, but they might

see me as TESTY>> and try to get you out

    of the office MORE quickly.

Hospitals are very overloaded and busy

these days. So, if any of you have

    had similar, input is appreciated

This is in Canada, so any Canadians reading

and having knowledge, plse post. THANK YOU

there are different kinds of pneumonia, some by bacteria, some with aspiration, some with inhalation.

I am not too suprised that they cannot find a cause: unless the patient's history of aspiration, inhalation or getting a culture of the sputum it would be hard to say.

If they work outside, it's really had to say what they inhaled.

It could be acquired in the hospital as well.

I'm with you about asking about everything and why, etc., but sometimes the doc just doesn't know.

    Hi Dotti:

    Thanks for your input here

Yes, it is true, they do not know everything

I was very concerned when hearing this

I believe he is still working outside

too hard, perhaps, but not my business

You can not tell people, as you know
sometimes we have to give up monies for health

    :)

ps... Think I'll make myself one of those nice drinks
    of yours tonight, Cheers

    Hugs, Sierra
