I have a 10 year old bichon named Whitman.  I noticed last night that one, for sure, of his eyes seemed more closed than the other.  Now today he'll hardly open either of them.  I was eating breakfast and he wanted some but he sat and begged with his eyes closed!!!  I don't like it.  The weird thing is they aren't crusty or extra weepy.  They seem normal except he won't open them.  I consulted Dr. Internet and it's a sign of some sort of eye pain but who knows from what reason.  i guess I'll need to take him in.  with my background i immediately think he has some sort of eye cancer!Undecided  sigh

I'm so sorry to read this.  Hopefully, it is something that can be treated fairly easy.  Our pets are like family.

    Jill ~

It could be anything...he probably scratched them, or perhaps allergies...take him in perhaps they will give you an antibiotic ointment to place on his eyes he may need one of those cones...and Benedryl won't harm them either just makes them real tired.

This too shall pass...it will be fine...like Sierra said, with the long weekend you don't want to worry yourself longer!

Whitman will be fine !!! He is 10 after all...the body slows down a bit but if he still begs w/ his eyes shut ( poor guy lol ) you know it can't be THAT serious as long as he still has his appetite that GOOD !

    ( gentle hugs )

Hi Jill, Oh, I hate hearing this. It makes me cry. I am a definite animal lover here. I wish I could tell you something on this. He might be sensitive to something? Think positive. The smart thing now, is too take him to the Veterinarian and see what he says. He may give him some sort of eye drops for infection or allergy.I will check back

    sweetie. Take Care.

    God Bless,

    Love,
