Hi Ladies, it's been since September since I got my hair cut (tend to go long periods of time since at one time I had NO hair) anyway, our local stylist in town put the little cap on my head and proceeded to pull out the strands  so as to make them lighter, well she did what she did and then put a cap on my head and told me to have a seat while she started to cut another ladies hair. Well five or ten minutes go by and all of a sudden it seemed like my entire head was on fire, I jumped and ran over to the stylist and she immediately pushed the other girl out of the way sat me down and proceeded to rinse out the solution-she proceeded to ask me if I had well water and the answer was no but then I told her of the meds that I am on and she told me that was more than likely the culprit because all meds that we take end up in our hair folicles and that is probably why I ened up with a chemical reaction to the solution that she used,

I just wanted to pass this along to all my sisters that are thinking of getting their hair colored or dyed so that you are aware of what may happen.

Luckily she got to it in time and I have no burn marks on my head-WHEW--just the thought of something else going wrong -esp with my hair that seemed like it took forever to grow back after chemo.

I tend to be very whats the word (emotional ?) when it comes to my hair now-if you al know what I mean!!!!!

no doubt because she told me that if we waited any longer and it had actually gotten on my scalp she would have been running next door to get cans of 7up to dump all over my head. Not really sure why that other than she said the chemicals in that would have counteracted with the dye--things that make you go hmmmm......

lag: sorry to hear about your hair appt.  Yes, having our hair back after chemo becomes a very touchy subject!!!  Eventually, we get over it... glad you did not get any burns.
