After my lumpectomy on Sept. 2007. I got chemo and now going through the radiation process. Before I got diagnosed I had felt a bump in my breast and I'm worried because I still feel it. They had said that I had calcium in the breast. Could that be the bump I'm feeling. It really is a sensitive spot. Is that normal?

Atenea....At this point, it seems to me that anything weird can be "normal" and what seems to be nothing at all can be deadly. I've never had a calcium deposit in my breast, but I have one on my hip bone. It's a calcified hematoma actually that came up as a result of a skating fall and then hardened. So it seems reasonable to me that they can occur anywhere. If you are currently in rads, they must be being quite vigilant with you and it sounds extremely unlikely that they'd overlook something that could even remotely be suspicious. So try to relax, hon. It's completely understandable that we will always be afraid that our cancer is back, but one of the primary emotional tasks before us as survivors is to learn ways to keep that fear in check somehow in order to fully embrace our lives.
