Congrats Westie !!!!!!! Whooooooo Hoooooooooo !!!!
Today I have Taxol and Herceptin # 6 - 6 more to go. DD A/C was a lot easier than this weekly business. They say it is cumulative and I think only my ear lobes are not affected in one way or another. YES -- it can and will be done soon. And joy of joys - Herceptin to continue for total of a year.
HUGS and BLESSINGS, Nancy

Hi Gina
I am scheduled for simulation on October 9th - I got my radiation schedule at my last treatment. I will be going to TomBaker so must be the same. THey haven't called me back about rescheduling my 8:00 am's yet so will call again today.
-
CONGRATS WESTIE, SUE PEET and KKING!!!!!
I don't know who else is done in this group but cheers to all you lucky dogs anyway!!! You must be looking forward to the tanning beds!!!!I can't wait. I am still suffering bone pain and fatigue from my last trt a week ago. I am not bouncing back as fast each time like I used to but I am going to just keep remembering that I only have one more. I think my mouth sores are getting better so that's a good sign. I have not been to work at all this week. There is no way I would have made it a full day. We have a 2 level house plus basement (laundry set up in basement) and our bedroom is upstairs above the main floor. By the time I climb (crawl) all the stairs during the day, my legs are weak and my bones ache. Enough whining already!
To our chemo finishers and all the rest of you girls, may your weekend be pain free, fun filled, and long lasting! HunkyD
-
Congrats to Sue Peet and Karen......I was lucky enough to congratulate Westie in person as we were both getting our treatment at the same time..........got her a great hat......akse her what it says.......
Have a meeting with the genetics doc and with the BS tomorrow.........so should be a busy day......but hubby is going to chaufer me around.......so that's nice........a little apprehensive to get the results of Brca testing.......fingers crossed that it is negative.......will be nice to have a better idea of the timing of my surgery and to get a feel for BS's recommendation regarding Bilat.......not that I think it will change my mind much.....
Have felt fine since chemo yesterday......but am dreading the bone pain that I know will be starting any minute.......fingers crossed that everyones SE's are minimal this weekend!
HunkyD......hang in there......we are almost done......one more to go!
Cheers
Jax

Oh please Westie....I know you might be sleeping but inquiring minds want to know what the hat said. Pa...leeeze! HunkyD.

Hi Everyone,
A question for all, or especially those who are finished their chemo. I had my last chemo treatment 4 weeks ago and my muscles are so sore I can hardly move around. Feels like I have been doing some strenuous exercises and have stiff muscles, but of course I have not. Was wondering if anyone else has this problem or if it is just me.
Thanks everyone,
Bonnie
-
Whoooo Hooooo Sue and Karen. Good luck with minimal Side effects. My treatment went well yesterday, although it was a bit busy and took a while to get my meds. I had a liter of saline to help dilute the meds going in and to keep hydrated. I drink a ginger ale and lots of water with ice chips during the treatment (when I am not snoozing)...
HUGS, nancy

Thanks for the cheers.. I am still cheering.
Nice to know both Jax and Hunky D have one to go...great news.
Hoping everyone has minimal S/E's. Suppose to be a nice weekend.
Take care all
Karen

Bonnie - I'm glad to hear that someone else is experiencing what I am, not that I want you to have any side effects, it's just nice to know I'm not the only one. Yesterday was 5 wks from my last treatment and I certainly wasn't expecting to still be feeling fatigue in my muscles. It's my legs mostly, but some in my arms, too. Climbing stairs is just misery - I feel like I've just climbed a mountain and that my legs are going to give out on me. Even walking and or just standing for any amount of time, wears me out! I sure hope this ends soon. My onco told me to give it until the end of September before I started exercising - maybe he knew it would take that long. He told the effects were cumulative, but every other treatment by the time it was time for the next one I was feeling normal. Very frustrating to not be feeling 100%, or even 90%, this far out. I WANT TO FEEL GOOD AGAIN AND BE ABLE TO FUNCTION!!!! Sorry for the outburst.

End of the week. Hope everyone is not hurting and has their taste buds ready to go.
Chocolate Lover, I saw this pic and wanted to post it for you. It is not me in case you are curious. Although, I can not truthfully say I haven't had the same sh#t eating grin on my face before.
As far as the fatigue and bone pain go, I think it lasts a long time. Longer than it takes chocolate to melt!
Jax: Hope you are doing ok after you treatment, you are right.....we are almost there, and Nancy, hope you are doing ok too. Bonnie and Kathy, from what I read on the other threads it is common to be out of it for quite a while. It's crappy that once you achieve the goal of finishing chemo the S/E's want to hang on for such a long time. Hope you two are both doing well! KKing...hope you have a great weekend!!
Hugs to all I missed, I pray you all have comfort in some shape or form this weekend. Keep those cards and letters coming in. This board helps me tremendously. HunkyD

Hi
Forgot to give my congratulations to Westie, Karen and Sue on my last post! It's a wonderful feeling to be done. I hope all of you have a wonderful week-end with few side effects.
And, to the rest of you who aren't quite there yet - hang in there, the end is coming!
My dh said he saw fuzz on my head so maybe my hair is starting to reappear. The eyebrows are just about gone, though. Haven't lost but one or two eyelashes yet...
Liz10 - Have a wonderful birthday. Hope you feel great and have a fun day celebrating.
Hope everyone has a great week-end.

omg! where do i begin? or end?
I'm in the hospital with complications. My pericardium was full of fluid and my poor little heart could only beat at 30%. rushed by ambulance to emergency where a not so skinny needle was inserted into the sack surrounding the heart to remove over 3 lbs of fluid!
now there is fluid on both lungs and we are doing all the wholegamit of tests to see other mets.
please pray for me!
Hubby & I have shed LOTS of tears since Wed. but we have open arms for all the support we are generous to receive.
Still thinking of you all, and smiling at the joy of being finished ã major step on your journeys.
Congratulations to you all!!!
I will keep you on top of things!
big hugs,
CL -
CL - I'm so sorry to hear of your complications and hope they will be resolved soon. Are you in High River or at FMC? My prayers are with you,
Gina

Hope everyone else has a good weekend

thx gals!
Your responses came so swiftly (on the wings of angels, I'm told) they brought tears to my eyes but put strength in my soul.God bless.
I am in Tom Baker med.onc unit 57.
It is for terminal or no immunities like stemcell transplants.
no flowers, or children, or any kind of germs permitted.
BORING!!!
Ihope to be home by Wednesday.

Congrats to Sue Peet, Westie and Karen. I have one more Oct 2.
Chocolate Lover heres to a speedy recovery.
HunkyDory I have had a harder time bouncing back this time too. I have a split entry home and laundry is in the bottom half. I feel like my lungs have never walked up a flight of stairs before. As long as I'm on the flat seems to be OK.
I don't have bone pain but my feet feel a little tingly this time. And my taste buds are taking longer to recover, I have to eat strong foods like garlic or onion to make things taste like something.
Grand babies (and daughters, son-n-laws are hunting) are coming to diner. They make everything OK. Keeps me grounded.
Have a great week end.
-
Choc.....that sucks........I will be praying for you and the hubby......hope you get to go home soon.......sorry that it's boring.......rest easy......my thoughts are with you.
Jax

Wyoming: Same with the tastebud thing for me too. I have not had any of the neuropathy problems yet but big time bone pain. Glad you got your grandbabies for company. My husband and son didn't draw for hunting until the middle of October so I won't be alone until then and should be fine. I will be lonely while they are gone. No grandkids....just one big pooch. I don't think they will take her but I don't know.
Choc Lover.....oh that's quite a stay. the hospital just does suck. In and out the nurses come...a blood pressure here, a temperature there....how much did ya pee, how much did ya drink....how they expect you to sleep at all without the help of the big drugs I do not know. My thoughts are with you. Wish there were something I could do for you.
Vino....hope you are having a good weekend after your treatment.
Liz19........HAPPY BIRTHDAY TOMORROW. I wanted to make sure I remembered it. Eat a piece of cake for me cause the way my tastebuds are I could just eat a chunk of the box it came in and it would be the same.
Too all yee others..... have a great weekend. HunkyD
-
Chocolate Lover - Hope things are going better for you. What a horrible experience you are having to go through. My thoughts and prayers are with you. Hope all of your tests come out negative.

hi lovely ladies,
here's my update:
my bp is way up now at 112/70 with some assistance from all these drugs I'm sure! I don't care; I'll take it. Before it was 89/49. crazy!
Fluid is not returning to around the heart which is great news! it is, however, filling up the lungs now though. I'm going for more big needles tomorrow but I hear they're easier to take in the side than near the heart. The bad news is that cytology shows cancer in the pericardium (ugh!) so more tests are needed to find other mets. full CTs and MRIs Monday.
Keeping positive thoughts and knowing how many are sending prayers helps alot!
thanks!!!

Sorry to hear about the hospital stay and side effects. I thought about moaning a bit but after reading those I feel pretty lucky. I am just a bit tired because I worked the last two days but, as I have to remind myself, I am so lucky to still be able to work and enjoy being around people.
I have had almost non stop company and this weekend it is my in laws, who are great. I was lucky enough to marry a good guy with a very nice family so we like it when they come out to see us. It is rare to have a weekend without company so it is a good thing I no longer worry about cleaning my house before company or making dinner every night... Now it is like kindergarten at my house "you get what you get and no complaining!" My 6 year old told me that is what the teachers say. I have adopted it as my living with cancer saying!

I live 15 minutes from the Tom Baker. If you need anything, send me an PM and let me know how to reach you. I would be happy to bring over anything that you might need. Hoping for the best for you.

Yes, I had the privilege of meeting Jax and her husband in the chemo suite last Wed. Jax brought me a gift for my last chemo: a cap with 'Shhh...Hair growing!' embroidered on the front and the date embroidered on the side. How considerate is that? I was a total stranger! Jax is a courageous and thoughtful young woman. Bring on Oct.1!

Girls,
Hope today finds everyone OK. I am worried about Chocolate Lover! My thoughts are with ya girl. Hope you are getting excellent care. Wish I could do something.
Vino....how nice with the hat gesture. It is going to take more than the shh...quiet for my mop to start growing I think. You are certainly a thoughtful person.
I am waiting for next week for my last poison. I know it's going to kick my butt, but, it will be the last. I am also getting good at eyebrow art. I still have some so I have a nice pattern to follow. Kind of like painting by numbers where you have the outlines there to fill in. I still look like some kind of 1940s hollywood whore I imagine but I haven't been laughed at yet. Glad the few that are left are blonde so I don't have to go overboard. Still have eyelashes (few) top and bottom. I'm sure those will be gone after this next trt. Work is making me tired. Wyoming, if I was a teacher, I'm afraid I would have to send all my classes to some kind of study hall or give them bathroom passes for the day. Guess I'd send the rest of them to the parking lot.
Glad you had a good birthday liz19, and hope you feel great for the concert after your LAST TRT!!! You probably will be fine.
Everyone else.....keep the board alive....I look forward to it when I come home from work. Later, HunkyD
