    Hello,

I'm a Canadian living in Oklahoma Permenant resident ailen, but my kids moved to Seattle and I'm thinking of moving to Alberta so I can be close to them and have health coverage. What do you think of the health care for us girls up north. I'm triple negative had my surgery two years ago last month YEA. I had 1.5 cm, no node involvement, graade 3, er pr neg. I had to do 4 rounds of AC and 4 rounds of Tax plus 33 rads because of the triple neg status. Anyhow sorry I am not from Alberta, but maby soon. I guess I have to get established there before I can get covered, but they said that only takes about a month. Sorta scared though about the care there. How are you doing and can I ask what treatments you had. Oh Im 56 and have 2 grown boys and 8 grandkids.

I'm from Calgary too.  My double mastectomy, reconstruction and port o cath will be performed this fall.  I am waiting to fit into my plastic surgeon's schedule as I can wait, my cancer is well maintained.  I have bone metastecis so for me its a chronic illness.  I wanted all my surgery at once because I didn't want to have to recover so many times with so many surgeries.

I hope everyone is doing well.  Smile

Red Deer here!  Dawn, we lived in Swan Hills for 8 years, so are very familiar with Barrhead.  As to Canadian Health Care, Myrna, my experience is that I have received good, timely care.  It seems that for certain elective procecdures you can wait a long time - I've hear 2 years for knee surgery.  But even for my reconstruction the wait was 3-4 months.  I find the drs. are rushed, and the administration in our hospital seems very confused - mixing up appts. etc, but generally good care.
