    Hello

Ok.  I am getting soooooooo tired of being dry "down there"!!!!  I use vagifem and now the doctor gave me premarin cream.  A small amount.  My husband and I had sex (a rare occasion with this thing) and now a few days later I am sore, irritated and its driving me nuts.  We use lubricants we do everything we are supposed to do and still this keeps happening.  Is this just me????

    Hi, Barb,

I used compounded estriol cream for a while, and it wasn't too helpful. Then I used the FemRing, and I love it. Something about that slow release of hormone works for me. Plus, I use half a Lubrin insert (lubricant) before sex. Then I'm good to go. But if it's been a while since we've had sex, then I have to really take it slow. It's like those tissues need to relearn how to act!

I know.  Its so annoying!!  I think what is making me depressed is that something that is supposed to be natural is a production now.  I don't know about you but I got slammed into menopause.  I had my ovaries removed and it was instant.  They say its worse that way and I believe it.  I had an infection a few weeks ago and I'm wondering if I have one now.  I have a refill on that cream so I may try it.  I hate going back to the gyno and having her tell me yet again that its due to the dryness.  I seem to have her stumped.  Tell me more about the Femring?

    Hi Pharmmom:

    Just saw this

and thought Id break from packing

Someone suggested the ring to me

and then I went to a gyno some yrs

back and he said he did not think

    I would like it..

so my Onc. gave me some premarin.. v. tiny bit

but, in all honesty it did not help that much

and I seemed to have a s/e from it

    Further, in honesty

I took HRT.. for heart etc.

and also found it helped me in that area

Now of course, nothing seems to work

    Sending you best on this

    It certainly is an issue

    that needs addressing

    Hugs, Sierra

I used the Estring and it was great.  Ask about it.

My gyn's nurse suggested that I use Aquaphor just on the outside "parts" a couple of times a day, and I've found it very helpful. Not sure why, but it works and it's estrogen-free.

I hear you on the whole thing being a production. Yuck, I hate that about it! (And you ain't seen nothin' til you've seen lymphedema night garments Tongue out).

Wishing you wonderful solutions that restore every bit of the joy!

I will ask about the estring.  I think I am due for my yearly in June or July.  Sierra good to hear from you.  All the best on your move!  Glad you are doing well.  Thanks iodine and binney.  I appreciate your help.  I don't think my husband totally gets it.  He tries but he keeps thinking if we use more things (someone suggested a vaginal dialator!).  I don't get how that would work if the problem is dryness?  What does stretching have to do with dryness?

Estring and Femring give tiny, constant amounts of hormone to your tissues over a three month period of time. There is minimal systemic absorption. It has saved my life!

It's a silastic ring you insert in your vagina. My husband is never aware of it during sex. Nor am I.

Another estring question.  A loonngg time ago I used a diaphram.  It gave me a bladder infection!  Is the estring going to do anything like that?  Does the ring disolve over time or does it have to be removed?

The ring does not disolve, you just replace it every 3 mos.  You can push it out with a huge "urge", I've heard, but you can wash it in soap and water and replace it.

I totally forgot I had it in,  just marked my calendar when to replace it.

I feel it was a great deal safer because it only emits a tiny amount of estrogen daily over this 3 month period.

Pharmom, I hear you about the dryness!!

    Whoa, its not good.

I went along for my smear test a few weeks ago, and I actually yelped when the nurse tried to do it....I left it a week (her suggestion, not mine, how would waiting a week make a difference!!) it was so painful.

At the second attempt she used what she said was a childs speculum, I just daren't look her in the eye this time round,  hehehe.

So I guess mojo won't be coming up on my radar anytime soon EmbarassedCryEmbarassed.
