Great book - "Superfoods: 14 Foods That Will Change Your Life"

    I am reading a book right now, "Super Foods" by Dr. Steven G. Pratt and Kathy Matthews. It was a New York Times bestseller and is very informative! The 14 "power foods" are:

    Beans

    Blueberries

    Broccoli

    Oats

    Oranges

    Pumpkin

    Wild Salmon

    Soy (I beg to differ on this one, as I am avoiding it, being ER pos)

    Spinach

    Tea

    Tomatoes

    Turkey (skinless breast)

    Walnuts

    Yogurt

    For each food (a chapter for each one), listed is that food's "sidekicks" -- foods that have similar nutrient value. Was I glad to see red watermelon listed underneath tomatoes, as my kids won't touch tomatoes but LOVE watermelon! ;-)

    At the end of the book is a really handy guide: a list of good product choices/brands for each food type (cereals, breads, juice, etc.) - I've already started my *healthy* grocery shopping list! :)

    I tried to post a link to the book (I bought mine through Amazon), but can't. Anyway, just passing the info along...I highly recommend this book!

    The list of food looks a little "lean" to me, but it all looks healthy.I doubt whether i'd be so good in the long term.I'd probably keep it up for just a month
