TV SHOW "WORKOUT" mocks BC patient

Last night I could not sleep and turned on the tv to zone out for a little bit. Instead I got so angry I was up even later. Television show "workout" showed a very fit young woman exercising, and an employee making " fun" of her breasts and how they looked. Well, the woman's boyfriend revealed that the young woman is a breast cancer survivor.
What can I say? Fatuous idiots should hope karma has not got the accuracy of a cruise missile: at some point we all have an illness that effects the look of our body.
Makes me furious!!! Women treating women this way.

Moogie, I've never seen the show, but it seems a lot of people were horrified by that episode:

I thought it was awful. And the owner didn't even want to discuss it with her employee. I watch the show--liked the first season--but think this season has lowered its standard and I probably won't watch anymore. I think the producer and owner of the series should be held accountable for this. What was the point they were making? They never really addressed the issue of bc and working out, or how we live everyday of out lives after bc treatment. I know the main focus is on lesbian life of owner of exercise company--I would think they would follow up on this if they get enough negative response!

Does anyone have a link to the episode of the show?

It made my stomach turn!

I saw it also, Jackie's cavalier attitude was too much for me. She couldn't have cared less. It's ALL about her. I'm finished with the show as well.

I just found this on Jackie's blog on Bravo.com
To clear up a couple of things: I did not make a derogatory remark about Brian Peeler's client on camera or off-camera. The only reason he tried to bring it up to me on camera is to villanize me and set me up for something I didn't do. Lisa did not know this woman had cancer and made a comment about her breasts which she apologized for. I have dealt with cancer personally as well as watched my mother struggle with it so I am very sensitive about this disease.
I have been employed in the past and in a million years would not have behaved the way Brian behaved with me. I can't imagine raising my voice or refusing to leave my boss' office when asked politely to do so. I feel totally justified in firing him. I have always personally disliked him. Please remember that this is a show and that much of the beautiful and inspiring work we did was left on the cutting room floor.
On a lighter note, I thought Erica looked beautiful during her shoot and it was a great self-esteem builder. Gregg B. and Deenie are just not fitting! Sky Lab is challenging and getting off to a rocky start but some powerful changes are yet to come.
Thank you
-Jackie Warner

read this on tmz:
"Work Out's" Warner Worked Over Boob Barb
Fitness guru and reality cult-heroine Jackie Warner is getting thrown on the rack after remarks about a client's enhanced bosom -- that Jackie says wasn't her doing -- rubbed viewers and a big sponsor the wrong way.
Propel Water told TMZ in a statement that it's pulling its sponsorship of Bravo's "Work Out" after Warner and her office manager's remarks about Jamie Eason, a breast cancer survivor, aired. Warner's camp says the offending remarks didn't come from her, but from her staff.
Eason tells TMZ, "It saddens me that Jackie continues to blame the others -
I for one am glad they are pulling the ad.
It doesn't matter whether she said it or not - she should have reprimaded her employee for making comments on clients in such a derogitory way.
It was just uncalled for!
-
Regardless of whether Jamie Eason had had breast cancer or just botched plastic surgery without any breast cancer, people who work in a gym shouldn't be making negative comments about a client's body. I would never train there after seeing that episode.
-
I also think the reason she got so angry at Brian when he came in to discuss it is because she knew she was wrong; the fact that it was him calling her on it, put it over the top for her so she fired him. Shame on her.
-
Patrice, my sentiments exactly, on both your comments!

Like the woman in the episode, I too have "rocks on my chest." I saw the episode and was surprised they even commented on her boobs. She looked "natural" to me... especially considering the show is filmed in L.A. where implants aren't the strangest modification people do to themselves.
I am probably the lone person who wasn't horrified by the whole thing and since I'm in the same shoes as that girl, I think I have the right not to be! First, no one but the film crew, Jackie and her assistant know what really happened. From what we saw, Jackie didn't say anything about this woman, the assistant did. Of course, by laughing along, Jackie was condoning that behavior and she shouldn't have done that. The boyfriend overheard the comment and called them on it. The assistant apologized and felt horrible. If anything, she should've been fired, but Jackie obviously has a problem with blurring the line between friendship/fun and work/professionalism so I'm not surprised she wasn't. I think the reason Jackie didn't want to talk with Peeler about it was b/c it had already been handled.
The one that I think was really wrong was the boyfriend. He should have dropped it after talking with Jackie and the assistant. My husband would never have let me know that was going on. I would've been so hurt and self-conscious if I were that girl (who was gorgeous BTW!) I know with the cameras there she probably would've found out anyway, but the producers were a-holes for not cutting that scene IMO.
Oh well, my two cents FWIW
