Hey, I'm gonna be in NYC at the end of the month for 4 days.  Would love some suggestions from you "city" girls on things to do and see.   Local restaurants, night spots, "must see" etc!

I'm going to see "Young Frankenstein", "November", "Jersey Boys" and "39 Steps".

I've done the touristy Empire State building, MOMA etc and would love to hear some suggestions from the locals.  Anybody have a favorite watering hole?  LOL

marsha-i live in nyc, not sure what kind of things you like to do, but the MET is a must see also chelsea galleries if you are into art, soho, west village and noho are great little neighbourhoods to hang out in lot's of little shops, bars and restaurants. have you been to the statue of liberty? also boat tours along the river are fun as are the city bus tours.

the white horse tavern on hudson is a classic pub in the west village where all the hippy musicians and writers of the 60's hung out at bob dylan, joni mitchell....a very fun restaurant if you like mexican food is rosa mexicana, great spanish place in the west village sevilla on charles street. let me know more detail of food you like and i can recommend some good restaurants.

Bluesky, thanks for your suggestions.  Hippy musicians and writers?  OK gotta check out the Horse Tavern!!   I like art galleries and specialty shops.  Outdoor cafes where I can people watch.  I haven't seen the Statue of Liberty so maybe I should do that.  I like all kinds of different foods, mexican for sure so it looks like the West Village is a must go to.  What do you know about the East Village?  I saw the Sidewalk Cafe on our hotel site, it mentioned local bands playing.

jdash, LOL, the Broadway shows are the biggy for me.  I do alot of local theatre and our executive director asked me to come on this group trip to help her herd 60 people to the big apple.  LOL Once we get there and settled in the hotel I'm free for the rest of the time until it is time to head home.  I'm staying at the Renaisssance Hotel at Times Square.  My days are wide open, I'm seeing shows in the evening.  You got a favorite bar, jazz club, etc???  Lunch spot?

    Thanks for the replies!  Marsha
