I was diagnosed with breast cancer in Jan 2005.  

I had chemo and herceptin until March 2006 when I went into remission, then herceptin only until April 2008.  In April some cancer was found in a lymph node on my neck next to my left shoulder blade.   My DR. now prescribed AVASTIN along with the herceptin.

In my search I could not find any info on that combination for breast cancer.   Does anyone have knowledge or experience with this combination?

Bam - my treatment is Herceptin with Navelbine, so I'm sorry I have no infomration about Avastin. Perhaps you can find more information about your treatments at the following web site: http://her2support.org/

I am also interested in this combination.  I have been on Herceptin for 2 years with no problems.  In Oct. 07, they discovered bone mets in my sternum.  I Onc put me on Navelbine , Zometa, and Herceptin.  I did 16 treatments of Navelbine, when I finally said enough....My tumor markers only took a drop with the first 3 treatments then steadily moved up.  I asked to go back on aromatase inhibitors, since my previous experience was so good with them.  I am on Fosladex, Lupron, Herceptin, Zometa.  I have only been on Fosladex for nearly a month and my tumor markers have shot up 16 more points and now I have sternum pain.  So something is going on.  My Dr. said that it can take Fosladex about 3 months to work....last month he told me that Herceptin and Avastin was an option for me.  I was reading the info today hoping someone else was doing this.....so if anyone is out there, I am curious also....I am a little concerned about the risk of high blood pressure on Avastin....
