Bosom Buddy Prosthesis?
Comments

I read a recommendation about a bosum buddy brand prosthesis and am thinking about ordering them. Does anyone have them and can tell me about the shape of them? They have round or teardrop shapes on their website. I can't figure out if the teardrop shape extends somewhat under your arm or if it extends upward toward your bra strap? Is it a horizontal teardrop or a vertical teardrop? I will be using these in a pocketed bra and am trying to figure out if I need the round shape or what will slide into the pocket. I have simple foam forms right now but they don't seem to extend under my arm the way my normal breast would. If anyone has the bosum buddy breast forms, please give me some advice on what shape you have and how it fits. Thanks for your help.

I don't have those forms. I have Airway silicone tear drop forms. They're vertical with the point at the top near the bra strap. They don't reach under the arm but look and feel very natural. I think most forms will fit in the pocket of mast. bras. I'm sure someone will come along to give you more info about the busom buddies.

I tried the Bosom Buddy forms. I'm sorry to say I didn't like them. They didn't look smooth in my bra and looked lumpy and bulky under a tee shirt. They also have a seam in front that, again, showed through. You can see the seam in the righthand side of the photo on the Bosom Buddy webpage.
I'm rather petite and also like to wear fitted tee shirts, so maybe I just wasn't the right candidate for this kind of form. The shape is also as it looks in the picture (in fact, if you look closely, you can see that it's a little lumpy). You can pretty much wear the shape any way you want that works for your body type and bra. In that regard, it's versatile. For non-silicone forms, I like the Still You Illusions, but I wear it "upside down" from the way the manufacturer recommends, since I like more fullness at the top, rather than the bottom.
For silicone forms, I like my Airway Tritex Triangular, which has a microfiber back so I can wear it comfortably in an unpocketed bra.
One thing I've learned is that we're all different in what works and feels good. So, you should probably go ahead and order the Bosom Buddy and see if it's right for you. If not, you can return it.

I had a Bosom Buddy Prosthesis when I had my first mastectomy (right breast).
The teardrop shape extends under your arm to fill in the hollow areas left by node removal.
Because I was extremely well endowed, the Bosom Buddy was the lightest form I could find that would somewhat matched Big Bertha on my left side.
I found it the form to work reasonably well. It did take a long time to dry so at least two forms are needed.
After I had the second breast removed I switched to silicone forms (A cup size
) which I like much better for appearance and ease of cleaning.
