    Thought some of you ladies would have some info.

    is an omega 3 supplement safe for er+ bc?

    I am currently post-men (age 45) and taking tamoxifen after 22 months on Femara (had trouble with the femara)

    <>Information conflicts about it.  I personally have been eating flaxseed for breakfast for almost a year.  It contains omega 3 fatty acids, along with a lengthy list of other benefits also, but it does include phytoestrogens also.  Some sources say the plant estrogens are weaker than our own body's estrogen, and for that reason a new tumor will not develop because of plytoestrogens. 

    <>We all have to pick and choose what we believe, and that's the choice I've made.  On the other hand, I purposely steer clear of supplements with estrogenic properties, which is what you asked about.   No one really knows for certain. I just want you to be aware that a plant based source of omega 3's can be found in flaxseed.  Grind them fresh daily.  Eating them whole usually results in them passing through undigested.  Once they're ground, the oils are released and the shelf life is short.
