    I found out yesterday I am Her2 Positive (FISH)   I am stage 1 grade 1.  Seems like it is less common to be Her2+   ?

    Im Premenopause.  No Nodes, Chemo is not indicated- Since my Tumor is very small  1.2mm. Not enough Tumor Tissue to do the Onco test : (  

    So my New Onco that I met, Who I liked- She had similar thoughts of treatment that I do.   She brought Up Herceptin...And Zoladex (since taking Tamoxifen may not be safe for me- Stroke Issues)  

    So I have a few questions.  For one thing I have a Bilateral Mastectomy Scheduled for May 22nd- With Expanders.   I have not had Radiation....I was not going to have that because of the Mastectomy...So I dont want to delay this surgery.

     I have read General Anesthesia may not be safe when taking Herceptin.  I would need that for my Expanders & My Exchange...About Aug/Sept.   How late can one start Herceptin?   Can one start & Stop for surgery...And restart??

    I was on Herceptin when I had my surgery to replace the expanders and had absolutely no problems. If that had been an issue for me I would have put off the reconstruction and made taking herceptin my first priority.

    There are so many decisions to make right now for you and what ever you do will be the right one for you but you are smart to look for as much information as you can process

    Thanks Henny, glad to hear your exchange went well!

    I have seen 2 Oncos in the last 3 weeks.  And both have told me I ask very good and informed questions,  Ones jaw dropped with a question I asked- LOL. 

    While in normal everyday life ....I really know nothing & dont have much for brains...

    So its just kind of funny to me.

    I had three tx of TCH (H=herceptin) stopped for a second surgery, lumpectomy, then began again three months later. My 'year' of herceptin will take 16 months. Stopping herceptin and beginning again doesn't seem to be a problem for my oncologist.

    I had port removal during herceptin..no breaks.
