I've had two lumps removed off my right breast a few years back.  I just turned 39 years old.  I am experiencing pain and burning on this breast.  Could it be scar tissue? Cancer or another benign lump?

My mother had breast cancer, she is in her 5th year of remission.

Most doctors tell you that breast cancer doesn't hurt, however; my mother's did!  After seeing two doctors who told her to take Tylenol for the pain, her persistence resulted in cancer.  Did I mentioned that she had a mammogram that did not show anything! Thank God she is stubborn and requested an Ultrasound.  She had radiation and chymotheraphy.  She is doing great and has dedicated herself to the cause.

At 35, I requested from my doctor to do the same for me and ordered an ultrasound, this is how the first lump was found.  By the way, I also had a Mammogram and nothing showed!  My doctor decided that I should have a yearly ultrasound and Mammogram, this is also how the second lump was found; through the ultrasound that is!  I've had two needle biopsies.  It's been two years since my last ultrasound/mammogram since I became pregnant with our second child and couln't have them while pregnant and after since I breastfed him for a year.  It's been 9 months since I stopped breastfeeding and frankly didn't make the time to schedule it, until now.  The pain and burning is off and on, the burning is specially stronger around the nipple.

I know that my pain and burning sensation is probably nothing serious, however; I cannot discard the fact that I am a high risk.  But I am also wondering if it can be scar tissue?  Can anyone help? Thanks!

Morocha....I'm sure that you already know what you need to do and that is to have the pain & burning investigated in order to know what it is. Of course, it could be scar tissue or the effort of the nerve endings to rejuvenate and re-connect after your lumpectomies. But you're not going to know for sure until you get to a breast specialist and have your ultrasound. Most importantly, it sounds like your mind will not rest until you have answers. I'd advise you to pursue it.

Good luck and let us know how it goes!

My first occurance of breast cancer was a lump on my left breast and it did not show on my mamogram 6 centimeters ....., but I sure did feel it and it did show on the ultrasound.  My cancer cyst ended up being 6 centimeters... removed, chemo and radiation.  After the so called 5 year safety net...   It appeared again... on my right side of course it was is clusters and they sugested I have chemo again  and after that lifetime Herceptin, every three weeks...  I am feeling pain and burning under my right armpit, the ultrasound shows swelling, but that is just what the ultra sound tech put on the ultrasound screen........ so I still have no Idea if the cancer has spread, but I am of course  very scared.....  It is amazing how much this can effect your life......   I am scarrrrrred   /.........  I know for a FACT CANCER DOES NOT SHOW UP ON MAMAGRAMSSSSSSSSSSSSSSSSSS
