Just a question.  How did you singles handle a new relationship after surgery?  Or has the issue even come up?  Not that I feel like doing anything just yet, but hopefully life is not over at 47.

Did anybody decide not to have reconstruction?  If so, are you glad of your decision?  Did you tell your new mate about the situtation before the subject came up?  How did you handle it?

I am overweight and my ps would not do reconstruction until I had lost a significant amount of weight.  My question is how do you get into a mindset of dieting when everytime you pass by a mirror you get depressed and go get something to eat?  This cancer business is for the birds!  If it wasn't for my on brand of sick humor, I don't know what I would have done.

    Hello StillKicking!

I think you have asked the million dollar question. There is a Singles thread here and they have talked about the same thing. I'm 24 yrs old was dx at 23 I had a bi lat in Jan and I think of that all the time. Do I just go out on a date a be like I love long walks on the beach an o by the way I don't have any breast cause of cancer cant get reconstruction until my left chest heals from rads lol! I don't know how to approach it either. But what I'm leaning toward is if it gets serious than thats when Ill spill the beans until than I aint sayin nothing. I'm very happy about my decision gives me a lil peace of mind knowing that it has a less chance of coming back in the other breast.

I jus got a personnel training at Lifetime Fitness its a gift to myself been saving up for it so I can get in better shape. Gained 40 lbs from chemo an I HATE how I look now. So I figure I get in shape get me a cute wig or go ol natural an call it a day Kiss!

I wish you all the luck in your journey an Please check out the Singles thread there is a lot of good info about how these ladies have handle it. TAKE CARE!

    Chantal
