was on my way home from an event work related last nite and there was a great upbeat song on the radio and I was relating it to my life

to sum it up quickly married at 27 husband diagnosed 5 months later with ewing sarcoma - a very aggressive cancer (he passed away 5 years later after 3 bone marrow transplants and we traveled all over the world together ending in germany for treatment options

leaving me with a daughter to raise alone- i remarried and had another daughter- when she was 2- i was dx with bc - he ended up going thru "all our money" on a stupid business investment (over 1million including our house which we lost) and cheating on me while he did it! i divorced him and started a new life with my girls - dated some great guys and went back to work- 10 yrs after first dx i get dxed again with bc- this time stage 3- i year later dating an amazing guy and working thru it all to keep supporting my family -

my thoughts last night as i listened to the song was I DID IT ALL ON MY OWN! the only person in the world (besides my wonderful Parents) who has never let me down or diappointed me was MYSELF!!  and I felt so empowered and PROUD!  It is a challenge to be alone and going thru BC but with determination and focus on your goals (and some help along the way from supportive friends) YOU CAN COME OUT ON TOP !! take care of yourself and believe in yourself- surround yourself with positive thoughts and rid yourself of any negative sources in your life- lean on us here - this place is awesome

I have always taken the attitude that i was given "ONE" life and I am damn well going to make the most of it!
