Blood clotting disorders and cancer?

I'm curious, how many of us have been dx'd with blood clotting disorders, ie, antiphospholipid antibodies (APA), anticardiolupin, or other thrombophilic disorders.

When I was trying to get pregnant with the help of a reproductive endocrinologist, I was dx'd with APA.  I had to inject heparin when on a "cycle".

I read several articles that say that clotting problems are common in cancer patients.

So, has anyone been dx'd with clotting problems as well?

    Thanks,

    Suz

I developed a blood clot from my port and was on coumadin, but was able to stop it a month or so after I finished rads.  Had to have the port removed when they did my lumpectomy, after I completed chemo.  In hindsight, I'm glad it's out anyway, so I don't have to bother getting it flushed periodically.

I developed a DVT and pulmonary embolism two weeks after my last chemo treatment (Jan. 2007).  Spent a year on coumadin but feel good now.  It was pretty frightening - actually scared me more than the cancer.

I have not had any clotting problems. My onc did do blood work on me for a gene mutation for clotting before I started my tamoxifen. It was negative.
